Perhaps I am to set in my ways by I do not see the changes made in the BOINCstats page as an improvement. I wonder if they could at least have a tab for "view All" that presents it the way it used to be. Am I being an old fuddy-duddy or do others feel this way?

I agree, I liked the old way...
But I'm getting old, too!

The only changes I see are some different colors and the fact there are tabs to break up the information now. It is quicker loading for the people with slow connections I would imagine.

I don't really feel one way or another about it.

There was a thread over on the lunatics forum about this. Generally, the consensus is that it looks pretty, and the effort to go through and re-vamp is appreciated, but the implementation is cumbersome and not as stream-lined as it used to be.

I agree. A step backwards. It does not even display your total BOINC credits on the main user page.

Except where it indicates "Current Credit based on incremental update". Which is the same as before.

You don't even wanna know what was done to BAM! account manager... Because the function "save settings to projects" is now gone (which was the only reason I was using it for only two projects) and layout is all garbled up on my Firefox, I'm in a process of detaching from it.
Changing UI for the sake of changing UI... reminds me of... boinc manager ;)

IMO divided into too many pages, now you need 1-2 clicks more to get the information you want. Also it doesn't fit on 1024px wide screens, AFAIK it's still the most common size.

Now it loads very fast, that's something I like a lot.

But I would preffered the projects list on the main page...

It's a deliberate change? I thought it was a malfunction caused by the Seti outage. I'll have to take a closer look.

It was my post over at Lunatics that first noted the changes.
The biggest gripe I have is I used to be able to see the whole thingy on one page.
Now you have to go about clicking tabbys and loading different pages to see the graphs and such.

I didn't say it wasn't pretty.

I just am kinda old school, as in KISS.

No diss to Willy, but I happened to be quite pleased with the way it was in it's condensed form.

Perhaps a toggle from simple to advanced view ala Boinc would be a good alternative?

I'm holding out that it will grow on me. However I don't dig it at all really. I liked to be able to jump on the page check and leave. Now I spend time clicking around finding what I want to look at. As of now I'm marking it off as I don't know where stuff is, but eh.

As with 99% of web site updates the last couple of years, a big step backwards instead of forwards IMHO. :(

Cheers.

Seems to be the order of the day. The supermarkets here (I usually use Tesco, but the further-distant Sainsbury is guilty too, I think) change their layouts from time to time "to improve your shopping experience" -- which means it takes a few months for you to adjust your preferred route past the things you normally buy. What it really is is "you bypass 50% of our stock, let's make you go past it again in case of an impulse buy!"

I agree, I much prefer the old way better. It was so much nicer. I am also one of those with a slow connection speed. The new changes take much longer to load.

KISS is something I like too, before was good, they could have kept the old color scheme at least.

FAIL

At least put a tab with ALL so we can see everything.

Now we have to click through 5 pages to see the info.

Stupid update, the old one was far better....

It takes a wide screen monitor to fit it all on sideways.
Tabs all over the @*&%"** place.
the long term graph for `last five years has gone` though i can live without it.
The colour scheme must have the name of `refrigerator` or `fuzzy ice blue`
definetly taking the pastels on that one.

As I am limited to 1024x768 both Free-DC and BoincStats force me to scroll over. Based on the stats we use at work this is still a very popular resolution. So it is sad that some web developers are ignoring it.
