I have been running LHC@HOME for a while now but lately I get: 5/13/2012 8:21:46 AM | LHC@home 1.0 | Not reporting or requesting tasks I'm not reporting work but it won't request new work. My cache values are non-zero and my current WUs are below the buffer value. Why won't it request new work? |

First off, your computers are hidden so no one will have any idea. Secondly, you might have better luck asking about LHC on a LHC board instead of the SETI@home Q&A board. Janice |

I've found that LHC can be very fussy and patchy in its delivery of WU, even more so than S@H!!! Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

My cache values are non-zero The "cache values" are total work for all projects, not per project. my current WUs are below the buffer value How do you know/measure this? Â - ALF - "Find out what you don't do well ..... then don't do it!" :) Â |

min = 1 max = 4.5 days current WUs = 5:49 + 14:25 + 14:25 hours remaining |

If you are running a version 7 client, it won't ask for new work, because your tasks have more than 24 hours remaining (min = 1 day). Gruß, Gundolf |

OK. But what is max for? When min allows work, will it download WUs to max ? |

Version 7 will only start downloading work if the amount of work is < "Maintain enough tasks to keep busy for at least". The work request will then be for the amount of work < "Maintain enough tasks to keep busy for at least" + "... and up to an additional". Note that if you get a partial work request fill, it will stop if the amount of work is > "Maintain enough tasks to keep busy for at least" [edit] NOTE that setting "Maintain enough tasks to keep busy for at least" too high will run everything high priority as this is also your notification to the BOINC client of how long your computer will be disconnected from the internet.
