Your mind is more open for things when you're hypersensitive.

I mean no disrespect to you or your sister, but I find it interesting that we label people who have told us of 'weird' or unusual experiences to be "more open minded" than the rest, which of course suggests that everyone else is close-minded.

I believe open-minded means approaching a subject from all angles and willing to hear all data, then follow the data to a correct or likely conclusion. I'd bet that there's a natural explanation for her experience, but you'd have to be open minded to investigate it.

With open minded in her case, I mean more sensitive for other people's emotions and feelings and changes in atmosphere etc...

if it does it would have been easily visible for several years. It takes halleys comet about 38 years to reach the sun from its apoge. IIRC that is somewhere out around Neptune. So a planet that is currently unseen and not showing any sign of being "out there". would have to have an incredible velocity to reach the inner planets in just a few months time

Maybe it does exist & on 12/21/12, god pulls out his "godly" pool cue & sends it spinning into the middle pocket, making Johnney & the Mayans correct.....

Message 1293755 - Posted: 11 Oct 2012, 10:41:19 UTC - in response to Message 1293599.

The idea was first put forward in 1995 by Nancy Lieder, founder of the website ZetaTalk. Lieder describes herself as a contactee with the ability to receive messages from extra-terrestrials from the Zeta Reticuli star system through an implant in her brain. She states that she was chosen to warn mankind that the object would sweep through the inner Solar System in May 2003 (though that date was later abandoned) causing Earth to undergo a pole shift that would destroy most of humanity.

That's an interesting idea. Something to think about...

It's all thought provoking I agree.

What?

That someone 'dreams' something up, all without substance, and then others are willing to believe in such outlandish dreams of the dreamer, despite there being no substance?

How else can religions and cults survive on nothing more than such "blind faith"?

Keep searchin',

Message 1293914 - Posted: 11 Oct 2012, 20:22:12 UTC - in response to Message 1293909.

Yes, very thought provoking:

Nancy Lieder claims to have a stranglehold on the truth, and that "if any human theory differs, it is wrong", and has a page dedicated to the accuracy of the Zeta predictions. Of course, her fallback position is that she obtains special knowledge from her communications with the Zetas. Unfortunately for Nancy, the Zetas apparently tell her a lot of things that are just plain wrong, or that were claims made long before the Zetas ever came along.

Examples of Errors
Nancy and the Zetas claim that Stonehenge is older than the 12th planet, and that it survived prior cataclysms because it was placed in solid rock. Unfortunately, the modern view of Stonehenge is a reconstruction. Reconstructions were performed at the Stonehenge site several times between 1901 and 1958, and many of the stones are now set in concrete.
They claimed that the comet of the century, Hale-Bopp, didn't exist. Unfortunately Nancy missed this extraordinary event, deliberately, since she refused to go outside and look at it. Later she (or they) admitted it was a lie. The purpose of this deception was to somehow lay a 'trip point' to disrupt "the establishment".
Lieder makes basic errors in terminology, and is then unable to address simple questions about simple astronomy concepts
In a nutshell (pun intended) the Hale-Bopp conversation on Sci.Astro went something like this:

NL (1995): Hale-Bopp is a hoax.
SA (1995): No, it's a comet. We can see it.
NL (1995): No, you can't, you're part of the hoax. It's an exploding star.
SA (1997): We have two years of tracking data. It's a comet.
NL (1997): No, NASA is slipping in tracking data to deceive you and align with a real comet.
SA (1997): Yes, it's a real comet!
NL (2002): You only think I was wrong, but really I was lying to you, so the Zetas were right again!
SA (2002): ???

How this benefited anyone is an open question, as is how anyone can believe anything from Lieder anymore.

Examples of claims that were taken from or predated by other sources
The Zetas themselves: The abduction reports of Barney and Betty Hill (1961) and the appearance of the 'Grays' from Whitley Strieber's Communion (1987) Pole Shifts: Immanuel Velikovsky: Worlds in Collision (1950), Ages in Chaos (1952), Earth In Upheaval (1956), Oedipus and Akhnaton (1960), Peoples of the Sea (1977), Ramses II and His Times (1978), Mankind in Amnesia (1982), Stargazers and Gravediggers (1983). Edgar Cayce (1930). Len Kasten Pole Shift Revisited (1980).
12th Planet/Planet X: Zecharia Sitchin The 12th Planet (1976)
The Planet X Scenario: The cartoon "Thundar the Barbarian" (1980) (possibly influenced by Sitchin)
STO/STS: Service to Others, (good) and Service to Self, (bad) These concepts are common. They are called 'egoism' (the self) and 'altruism', (the self serving the other). These are contained in social theories stemming as far back in time as the ancient Greeks and are contained in the teachings of various religions and belief systems as diverse as Paganism, Yoga, Islam, Buddhism, Christianity, humanism, etc., etc. Nothing new here.
It appears that Nancy and the Zetas are taking credit for co-opting pre-existing ideas.

Unfortunately a lot of misguided people tend to give far more credence to claims without proof, usually because they want to believe it.

We will not die with the sun. As we know, the sun will become a red giant after approx. 10 billion years. TEN BILLION YEARS! I think the first human on a so called "exoplanet" will be real in maybe 170-400 years, if we compare the 18th century and and our technical advancement today. We will find the secrets of dark matter and how to use it for our good.

The main reason for why we still are searching is because we happen to know about ourselves.

We are trying to put a definition of our existence into a broader context where we possibly can explain both unexplained things in nature as well as our own presence here on earth within the same surroundings.

We are mostly bound to this earth because of gravity and also because our recent ancestors were either stone age man or farmers at best.

Really, the most recent ice age ended only some 8,000 to 10,000 years ago. Many people likely froze to their deaths even in caves and wearing fur or coat from animals which were killed for food and the like by means of a spear.

Even today everything is not successful when it gets to a possible outcome of certain or specific things.

Blame poor economic times perhaps, but most people do not get to the point where they are looking at a possible "overkill" when it comes to possible purchases.

Maybe such a thing will come along with me. I happened to end up a little better off in the end. I got quite a bit of software in my hands - the only thing that is needed is the right hardware in order to get everything working.

But is history meant to perhaps be having a surprise in hand for us in the sleeves? There is speculation around that the world will possibly end on December 21, 2012.

Does anyone happen to know?
