Message 1230333 - Posted: 11 May 2012, 1:10:11 UTC

I'm running the optimized apps, so I didn't automatically get the new AP6 app pushed to me. Does anyone have the app_info data I need to get it to download the application. This is for an intel based Mac.

Thanks!

Chris

This should cover it for stock. Add it to the end of the app_info just before the </app_info>

<app> <name>astropulse_v6</name> </app> <file_info> <name>astroupulse_6.02_i686-apple-darwin</name> <executable/> </file_info> <app_version> <app_name>astropulse_v6</app_name> <version_num>602</version_num> <file_ref> <file_name>astroupulse_6.02_i686-apple-darwin</file_name> <main_program/> </file_ref> </app_version>

Cool thanks, are you gonna have an optimized app anytime soon?

Thanks,

Chris

Urs is working on it, but still has some work to do to get it faster.

This should cover it for stock. Add it to the end of the app_info just before the </app_info>

<app>
<name>astropulse_v6</name>
</app>
<file_info>
<name>astroupulse_6.02_i686-apple-darwin</name>
<executable/>
</file_info>
<app_version>
<app_name>astropulse_v6</app_name>
<version_num>602</version_num>
<file_ref>
<file_name>astroupulse_6.02_i686-apple-darwin</file_name>
<main_program/>
</file_ref>
</app_version>

A couple of problems there:

1) There's a typo in the file name - take out the extra 'u'

2) Putting that in app_info.xml will run the program, but the question was downloading - you'll have to do that yourself. Here's a link, but I don't know if you have to do anything extra after downloading on a Mac, say to mark it as being executable.

Well for whatever reason it insists on downloading it in a non-downloadable format. Reminds me of my waaaay back unix days when you had to set the transfer to binary to get an executable transferred. However that recollection brings me no closer to getting it into the format I need...lol Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

Chris

Open terminal and type

chmod +x

and then drag the downloaded file onto the terminal window.

That will make it executable, then you will need to place it into the appropriate directory and rerun the BOINC installer to fix the permissions.

Cool, looks like that fixed me up.

Thanks,
