Looks like the work unit limit has been raised. One of my machines that was limited to 550 tasks now has over 600 waiting.

Yep, I've noticed the same thing on my cruncher. Don't know if the CPU limits are raised too.

Matt switched the download servers for a new one, I just read in Tecnical News, maybe that's the reason.

Looks like the work unit limit has been raised. One of my machines that was limited to 550 tasks now has over 600 waiting. From the list of your machines it looks like you have 2 that would have limits of 600 and that would have a limit of 1000. If you use a rescheduler to move tasks around you can easily have tasks over the limits. For example if you has 200 CPU & 400 GPU tasks and then moved 100 from the GPU to the CPU you would be able to download another 100 to the GPU. Edit: Looking over several of my CPU only machines they are over their 50/CPU limit. As Matt didn't mention anything for this weeks maintenance about this it might have been an accident. Let us hope it is not. ____________ SETI@home classic workunits: 93,865 CPU time: 863,447 hours Join the BP6/VP6 User Group today!

Looks like the work unit limit has been raised. One of my machines that was limited to 550 tasks now has over 600 waiting. No I only have 3 cores running on the cpus(50 each) plus 400 for the gpu=550. I don't use rescheduler. ____________

Looks like the work unit limit has been raised. One of my machines that was limited to 550 tasks now has over 600 waiting. I had thought when the values were changed to free up a processor for feeding the GPU it reported (3 processors) instead of (4 processors). I shall have to speak to my memory manager about this. ____________ SETI@home classic workunits: 93,865 CPU time: 863,447 hours Join the BP6/VP6 User Group today!

Hmm.. - yes, it looks like the limits were raised or ended..

When I checked my account a couple of hours ago, my i7 had 1753 tasks in progress. That's more than double its previous limit of 800. It may have actually gotten up to its total cache size (which I think is still set of 10 days).

At this point it does look like they have either disabled the limit or set it to a much higher value. It looks like the values for TDCF on my machines have shot up as well. A few of the faster ones went from around 1.1 to 1.9 now. So I'll watch and see what effect that has over the next few weeks.

I'll see if I can get official word on this.

I'll see if I can get official word on this. Whether by design or oversight, it's quite obvious that the limits have been raised, at least for GPUs. Which is what many of us have been asking for. I am guessing it's been raised by 100/GPU. ____________ ****** "Ask not, what your kitty can do for you. Ask what you can do for your kitty." As it is kitten, so shall it be done.

I'll see if I can get official word on this. More than that, my GTX560 has almost 1400 tasks currently. It is the only GPU in that machine. ____________

I'll see if I can get official word on this. IIRC the way it works is that they had set 50/CPU & then GPU's are considered 8 times as fast as CPU's so that resulted in GPU's getting 400/GPU. I have machines with 83/CPU right now. Someone reported they has more than 100/CPU on a system. Even with 100/CPU that would raise the GPU limit to 800/GPU. It could just be a test to see if the changes on the server side are OK now. We will see I suppose. ____________ SETI@home classic workunits: 93,865 CPU time: 863,447 hours Join the BP6/VP6 User Group today!

I'll see if I can get official word on this. I'm not sure there is a limit at the moment. I have a Core-2 Quad that's stopped asking for more work around 652 "in progress", and an Athlon-X2/GTX560 that's still asking for more at over 1700. Both have preferences set for 10 days/10 days. ____________

I've got a single-GPU host which I'm using as a test probe. I'm not requesting CPU work, so it will give us an idea of how much higher than 400 the current limit is set.

My i7-2600K and two GPU's old limit was 1200 Wu's, a bit earlier it was sat at exactly 1700 Wu's, not sure if that was the maximum allowed for my host,

I´m already at the double cache as it was before.

I'm over 1600 units from a limit of 1100. Piggy is at the trough....
