The upcoming full moon will make the moon appear up to 20% larger than normal and will also make viewing the Haley's comet meteor shower seem less intense. This is due to it coinciding with it's orbital perigee. Don't get moonburn watching it. :)

This is just a full moon that coincides with the moon's closest approach during this orbit of the earth. The moon will reach perigee at 11:35 PM EDT. The event is observable all night. For those of you in England and western europe it's already happening, however the greatest effect will be seen over the western hemisphere.

IM in england right now and its 02:24 GMT (proper time) and truelly its a gorgeous night. SIster moon is out in her yellow glory in clear skies and she is repsplendiferous :)
