Message 1229052 - Posted: 8 May 2012, 9:58:14 UTC

Based on a linear extrapolation of the data since this thread began, I estimate that the last result will be returned on 18 May.

But I suppose resends could make me look a bit foolish!

Place your bets! ;)

OK, but I still dont like having them classed as invalid. Invalid implies my PC did something wrong and produced results that did not match the others. They should have gone into valid even if they were not used as part of the validation process.

My guess is that BOINC knows only valid and invalid, so since the results were not part of the validation process, they are marked invalid, as it's not sure, if they actually were valid. After all it doesn't matter, neither for the science nor for your application statistics (your consecutive valid tasks value was not reseted to 0), so give it few hours more and nobody will know you had any "invalid" results.

True but I will know!

18 May which year? I suspect most of the ones still out in the field are ones that error out on some / all software versions requiring multiple resends with 3 week intervals before each resend

Update, all for of my AP5's have now been moved to invalid on the grounds that they were too late to validate. I am fairly sure that I did not get any credit for them, despite returning them before the deadline and with a valid result:((

You got credit for them, you can see that once in the results list for each of those WUs and also in each result's details.

EDIT: we are down to 41 now.

So much for linear extrapolation. As Joseph Heller once said, "Something Happened!" during the weekly outage.

And the best part is that they are purging as well! I was just looking at my list of stuck AP v505 tasks and one that was fixed up yesterday poofed. The tasks being stuck was bothering me a lot more than any credit issues.

Result turnaround time (last hour average): 0.17 hours

Must have been quite a few "too much blanking" tasks that timed out recently and were resend to hosts with small or empty caches.
