IMV, all our public transport should do what Israel do in their restaurants - Have mobile phone jammers.

Case in point - On way home this afternoon on a bus.....gawd almighty - I wished one of two things, a nice loaded gun or get to the stop I wanted PDQ!

Oh to go back in time to shake the hand of the guy/s that invented it, just before I shoot them!

Now he wants the railways etc. to throw away all that money they invested in ensuring these things and wifi and power sockets work.

If only you knew how much time and effort it took to get trains to be electronic friendly. There was one London main line station that if a certain type of train switched off or on when at the platform it would bring down the whole computer network within the station, knocking out all the departures and arrival boards and screens.

Israeli restaurants don't serve bagels. You can get them at hotels that cater to American tourists though...

What they do serve is excellent various middle eastern foods. Plus other interesting combinations -- a couple of years back we went to a place that served Argentinian style foods -- but all done kosher.

...Oh well, that's Israel struck of my next holiday destination list then.
This is a-kin to stating that American restaurants don't serve hamburgers & coke..
..go-on, "make-my-day", tell me they don't...my holiday destination list
may become even smaller if you do.

Um.. you do not need to go to a restraunt for that. Fast food joints I believe outnumber gas(petrol) stations.

No extra charge for the pink slime either.

Is it just me, or does the idea of a bus driving by and killing your phone service not bother anyone?

It only affects phones operating inside the bus.

The effective range of the jammers is only 50 feet & by the time the bus passed you by, it shouldn't be a problem.

& to give most people a comfortable journey without having to listen to the constant crap one hears in these conversations just has to be worthwhile.
