How interstellar travel at possible near light speed----->

Just a thought on space travel near stars is full of dust, particular matter, rocks asteroids. At light dpeed a rock the size of a marble would destroy a ship. How could build a shield that could possibly deflect any material in your way. How can you react in time to deflect something in your path. I think this could preclude any very high speed travel over long distances. The hazards of space travel could limit any exploration.

One of the technologies that needs to be invented prior to ultra high speed space travel is some sort of repulsive shielding out in front of a space ship to deflect anything that can't be detected in time to maneuver around. But, again it must be pointed out that the distances to places outside our solar system are so great that shieding is low on the interstellar need for technology list. Most of the ideas for jumping past the speed of light include a means of avoiding disastrous collisions.

My conclusion is that without some means of ftl propulsion there won't be any human interstellar travel.

I've heared that's lightspeed is not a must have to take large interstellar travels.
I heard it works with a very strong Gravity Propulsion drive ,wich will be powered by an specifical element.
I mean to remember it calls element 115 by my research i founded it as named "Unumpentium". It's possible to form the space by that way of Power engine.
I'm not sure but I think that the "Lockheed Martin TR-3/b Astra" power engine is working a little bit the same way,
but for Interstellar travels it have surely a more powerfull engine that it have to produce so much gravity that's possible to form the space.
In end of the 80's to 90's where a story in the media about the black projekt's in Area-51 base S-4 ,
told by Robert Scott (Bob)Lazar and in the black projekt dokumentary is John Lier talking (an retired CIA Pilot, but I'm not sure about that)-(Lier-Jet was build by his father).
But take a look by yourself the story is on many channels in the i-net, type Bob Lazar and he explained the workwise of the powerdrive,(much better as I can^^).

Yes Ithink so too. We need a repulsive shilding for protect of the dust an particels in space, and a Gravity Propulsion powerdrive to form the space to travel, And anything like.... uhhh, don't know how it calls in english , in german we call it "Trägheitsdämpfer", thats a protect for the body's that they don't get damage by stoping with big speed. I'm sure that some Engineer's are working to that, if Lockheed-Martin or Morthrop-Grumman and so on they are all testing new flight systems behind the eye's of the publicy. When they presentet their newest stuff for the press and publicy than it's sure that the technik behind there are probed the last 30 years!!!,then they showing that to us. The most UFO sightings geting back to these new planes with futuristic designs and futuristic power drive's.

Arthur C Clark had a simple yet elegant idea for protection from interplanetary/stellar dust. A sheild of common Ice on the nose of the ship. a several hundred foot thick sheild placed in layers would be a cheap easy way to prevent collisions and impacts from damaging living quarters

Just make sure the ship has a main deflector array. It deflects tiny objects out of the flight path. For bigger stuff, the main computer will detect on long range sensors and make minor course corrections as needed to avoid larger objects. Don't forget there would need to be some sort of inertial dampening system for going and stopping, otherwise the crew would be a pile of jelly on one of the bulkheads.

Yes ,but today they created any way to make it possible to take larger flights, maybe by an own magnetfield generateing reactor or something that way, because the Mars and even Moon flight's and maybe stations will be build next 25years i think.

Today it would a be good idea to capture one of the earth crossing asteroids and manuver it with thrusters into a parking orbit and make it a space station. Impervious to impacts with respect to size and weight. Could help with radation protection. Mine it and see what the early solar system has in store in the way of surprises. This would be easier and cheaper than mars, once in a study orbit manuver it into a parking orbit and it can be in orbot with the earth as a moon. Sooner or later we have to try to move one of these earth crossing asteroids.

Yes and that totaly right in a different way ,for me. The Chinese politiks have to change that's clear .but we can see that going on these days. look of the special man(don't know his name, he has fighted for the Human rightss and get in Asyl Now ,seting free by chinese Govt. and his whole Family too. At seems so as would china change a little his politics to be a real member in the internatial World Comunity and even the space programm, but I think too that the most of the tests and innoation are for the Military.
