I sent in a completed task on april 16 and it still has not been validated (along with others since). does that mean that the returned data is very important or does it mean the data is in error? Other datum has been sent and validated within 24 hours. Is there a problem?

Each workunit is sent out to at least two computers and the results are compared for similarity before they are validated and credit is granted.

I think I have worse one. I sent in an Astro 5.01 back on Feb 3 with a due date of Feb 14th. And it still hasnt been validated. Thats over 75 days. That seems an even longer time issue then the other person who mentioned his by an order of magnitude. I also find that any Astro 6.01's are taking around 1 month each also.

My longest validation time was about 12 months. However, that is a bit unusual. ____________ BOINC WIKI

Wow......... 12 months? Ok. Then I guess 2 1/2 months isn't so bad.

I actually posted elsewhere as the input seemed valid to that thread. I didn't think it was my fault I was looking for clarification.

I actually posted elsewhere as the input seemed valid to that thread. I didn't think it was my fault I was looking for clarification. Short answer, yes. However, they disappear from both the client and the server fairly quickly. The client does not keep any information about the task after report, and the server does not keep any information about the result after validation (NOTE: one of the results from a WU is sent to the master science database). BOINC Tasks will log the results for you if you wish, but it is not a standard part of the BOINC install on any client. ____________ BOINC WIKI

I like the info about my IP you posted ... Only you see your IP on this picture, everyone sees his own IP. The picture is dynamic and generated (by danasoft.com) at the moment your browser want to get it. Since any site that send anything (e.g. picture) to you knows the delivery address (your IP, the Proxy IP) the picture is generated to show your info. http://www.danasoft.com/ http://www.danasoft.com/aboutdanasoft.php ____________ - ALF - "Find out what you don't do well ..... then don't do it!" :)

Thanks for both the replies. One has indicated its not worth the effort and the other added a useful tool to my toolbox.
