Chris, I've been getting on the forums only sporadically recently, and only now learned of John's illness. Please pass my thoughts and best wishes his way,

For John...

Reminds me of the student nurses that took care of me at Tripler Army Hospital in Hawaii. More sensible shoes, and slightly longer skirts, but just as good-looking. Unfortunately, as a young sailor recovering from abdominal surgery following an industrial accident, they may have actually prolonged my stay in hospital.....

I think John will like that nurse. It looks like she has a couple of jugs of John's favourite ale hidden in that dress.

OK I have the latest news for you. They have now found tumours in both shoulders and will be treating them with radiotherapy. But on a better note, the kidneys appear to be functioning alright on their own now, and he won't need to go to another hospital, or need permanent dialysis, but they may move him to the local renal ward to keep an eye on things for the time being.

John remains in very good spirits and continues to thank you all for your kind wishes. On the behalf of his friends here at Seti, and other forums, I sent Sheila a bouquet of flowers through Interflora, and she was thrilled with them and they really cheered her up. The family continues to rally round. I'll ring Sheila next week for an update.

Glad the Tumors were quickly found Chris & thanks for the update too.

Flowers, women like that sort of stuff, among other things that is, take note guys. :D FTD will be quizzing Ya in the morning... ;)

The words "John Clark" and "good spirits" are synonymous, but not always in that particular order.
Glad to hear he's doing OK, and tell him we are coping in his enforced absence, and want him back fit and healthy.

Tis Poet's Day, at least out here
Alas our Leader's nowhere near
In hospital, you know, I fear
Our John will be denied all beer.

We hope for sponge baths, slightly naughty,
Given by some nursing hottie
We hope that foods NOT bland and gray
Are sent up on his dinner tray

We hope his room has free Wi-Fi
And someone brings a laptop by...
It's not the same in Seti-club
When John cannot frequent a pub!

To John, we send our very best
We hope for healing and for rest
We hope that by next Poet's Fest
He's back, imbued with vim and zest!!!

My chemo nurse is named Dafny, “Dafny Duck” I say,
but when it’s time to take my medicine,
“Sweet, lovely, and wonderful” is what I say.
