i noticed in my messages one saying that theres a new version of boinc,should we update to it ? does it just install over the previous version? thanx guys

Personally, unless you need it for another project, there's no good reason to update for this project. And, as I understand it, if you update to a 7.x client, you can't conveniently go backwards.

It installs over the top of the current version with no data loss.
