If I were to re-install windows on a computer that is already running BOINC, when I bring it back online will my computers page in S@H detect it as a new computer? If so, is there a way to indicate to S@H that it is actually the same computer that was previously running BOINC? I just want to keep my computer stats neat and not have duplicate listings of the same computers. Thanks.

To retain all work and keep the same computer ID:

1. Uninstall BOINC. It's a non-destructive uninstaller that leaves all work behind.

2. Backup your BOINC data folder. Typically the folders are:

Windows 7: C:\ProgramData\BOINC
Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\BOINC

3. Re-install Windows.

4. Restore the BOINC folder to its respective location.

5. Install BOINC. The installer is also non-destructive and will simply copy the BOINC files to the right folder and automatically detect the work in the right folders and pick up where it left off.
