SETI appears to have stopped running, although it shows on my projects tab. it isn't showing under tasks and my statistics graph is very peculiar. it shows a very slight incline up until april 12. then it shoots almost straight up and disappears off the grid. when i took at my results page online it shows no tasks. i removed SETI and attempted to reinstall it and received the error msg 'project communication failed'. it also says 'internet access ok, project servers may be down.' however since i am running rosetta and climate and they show as 'running', i don't think project servers are the problem. any suggestions? First, each project runs on completely independent servers, so it is entirely possible for one project to be down and others to be up and running. It is also possible on multi project setups to have work from some projects and not others. In some cases this will be because the project servers are down or overloaded, and in others, it will be because you have done more crunching for the project that is not present than its resource share indicates you would like to give it. In others, you won't get from all projects just because that would make all work not report on time. BOINC WIKI |

thanks so much for the answer. in fact i just tried seti again and connected with no problem, altho now my statistics graph shows dec 69 - jan 70, so i'm a little puzzled by that. i have been participating in seti for many years but certainly not 40 years. if this problem persists i will submit another question. thanks again, lenette Intelligence is not necessarily an evolutionary advantage |
