Just watched a documentary called Falklands Combat Medics which was a cool history. But little bit wondering that had british medics really saved hundreds of wounded argentinian soldiers lives in their fields hospital?! Because usually war covering documentaries are one sided.

But that hospital doctor Rick Jolly got something medal OBE plus argentinian equal medal too so that is something.

Yeah right: (according to that same Rick Jolly: british army soldier gurkhas thrown away by british officials after his blood being sucked case)

"He said a Gurkha hero whose life he saved 27 years ago was in desperate need of medical attention, which he had no hope of getting in his native Nepal.

Dr Jolly spoke of his outrage that L Cpl Gyanendra Rai had not been allowed to live here and claimed some Whitehall civil servants still regarded the Gurkhas as "cheap brown labour".

http://www.thisiscornwall.co.uk/Falklands-hero-gives-backing-Gurkhas-fight/story-11464964-detail/story.html - Maybe even was this gurkha fought in Falkland too?? because the timing of treatment was in 1982 too.

So overall it is certain individuals overcome hatred and treat opponents well otherwise generally british army and officials are still good old empirial blood suckers.

Even inside uk those poor asian slave soldiers treated like dogs according to this BBC article: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-10782099

Because nepal has some few million mongol blood related people who also call themselves mongols or some call sherpas. So their natural warroir fighting skills being exploited by british army for 2 centuries until today in unequal conditions compare to british own soldiers.

Like first Everest climber sherpa Tenzin Norgoi did not get same honor from british royalty while the same teammate british climber got knighted something.

So in this side of asia we call that blood sucking but in western side mostly it is called "bring freedom", "democracy", "civilized" all those stuffs.

This is not intended about flaming but my accidental watching of Falklands war medics documentary led to that same doctor being in disgust of british army's unequal treatment of british slave soldiers who fought in Falklands war facts.

It is perfectly in thread subject matching and that last article says that overall 43 000 gurkhas lost their lives for britain including Falkland war too. So how many war memorials being built in uk for that 43 000 lost lives if they are really not newer british slaves?!

The main advantage of international forum is not being single sided so other hidden truths to be revealed and learnt by international members. So better try to keep the rare advantage!!

Orgil, up till now, your posts have been pretty interesting, but here you've gone way over the top.

Every individual in the British Army are volunteers (with the exception in the past of conscription in major wars, i.e., WWII).

Everyone that volunteered were & are aware of the political side of pay & service but it did not stop them from volunteering so cannot see where you base "your facts" on slavery.

If you want to continue denigrating, do so, but show that it's the politics that are the problem & NOT the British Army.

Orgil

Please defrain from insulting the British-Gurkha relationship which has never been one related to slavery.

The Gurkha regiments involved in warfare during the last 2 centuries on the side of the British is based on volunteering, which applied in WW2 as well.

My farther was the Adjutant of the Second Seventh Gurkha Rifles, and fought under General Montgomery.

I do not appreciate the insults you spout, when my family, from my farther, had a personal relationship with the Gurkha peoples going back over 140 years.

Your inaccurate, and out of date, posts are causing me offense.

Orgil,
You might like to see In the Highest Tradition
First transmitted in 1989, this third episode in a six-part series delving into the world of regimental tradition looks Gurkhas' history and commitment to the British Army. They swear their oath of allegiance directly to Her Majesty the Queen and continue to revere ‘The Queen’s Truncheon’, which was awarded to them by Queen Victoria in recognition of their service during the Indian Mutiny.

If there is unequal medical treatment of war veterans plus unequal pay rate based on nationality and race then it is illegal practice by military authority thus the government policy is way out of line. This can be easily recognised as slavery by any international legal point of view!!

And it is clear that until 2010 the gurkhas were treated like slaves by british army that their pay rate was unequal to british citizen soldiers plus when they retire british authorities were acting with sucking the blood and throw away policies the fact that Falcland war doctor Rick Jolly was raising this issue against british military ministry.

I'd say if british society is really that fair and humane then why not until today any british ngo or veterans association file class action law suit against british government that gurkhas who lost 43 000 of their lives for britain were treated unequally until today?!

43 000 also includes gurkhas loss in Falcland war too!

The inequality was not necessarily something the the British forces agreed with. It has more to do with the difference in standards between the UK and Nepal. When a Gurka soldier retires and goes back to Nepal.
Should his pension and health care etc. be at UK or Nepalise standards?

Now think carefully about that, because if the standards should be the same, then should not the standards for workers in the same company throughout the world be the same. Therefore as an example should not the workers for Apple, IBM, Shell et al, in China or Korea etc. not get the same standards as those in the North America or Europe? If so could you afford your clothes, furniture, TV, car or computers?
