It matters not how old it is.

Some of us didn't even discover that classic piece of hilarity until the 'nineties.

And hopefully younger generations continue to discover it.

John Cleese lives in my neighborhood. I run in to him at the local health food store a couple of times a month. If any one want to pass a message wrap it in a bagel. I will give it him. Tim bits would work too.

Well, you could certainly pass along that many of us Seti folks hold him in the most esteemed regard.

I will give it him.

Tell him to put out more work
or we will run tours in his neighborhood,
and some of us will talk Canadian
every where.

That just might get his attention. Talking Canadian in California could land you in jail.

That is not true. Having canadian parents and growing up in southern California I can tell you from personal experience they do not put you in jail for it.

... You just get laughed at a lot and bad marks in "English".

If you are English and go to an American school you get bad marks in "English"

I should also have added, that you also got bad marks for English when you returned to England, because your spelling was very wrong, especially as far as Mr. Wade was concerned if you wrote words ending in "ize".

Or words like colour, gaol, centre, licence, grey, defence, mould, sulphur, analogue, oestrogen, aluminium, encylopaedia, spelt, disc, metre, cheque, need i go on?

Lol. Some of the above can apply here. Disc for example. (Although here in the US that mainly applies to digital media only)

I see you know why I got very low marks, Mr. Wade once wanted a 4 page essay, but feeling brave, because he deducted 1 mark for each spelling mistake, I handed the work in with only one paragraph.
I answered his look, by saying it had probably been reduced to zero marks at this stage, so why carry on. Off to the Headmasters office, again.

Headmasters were normally fairly benign individuals, it was the over zealous Form Masters that I rebelled against! My view was, you'll get your homework as soon as I can manage it. But it might be at 10 past 9 tomorrow not at 9 sharp. If that causes you a big problem then tough, deal with it.

Yep! got to know the Headmaster quite well. "Why are you here in front of me again young man? Well Sir, I object to being picked on and bossed around for no good reason. <long HM sigh> Christopher, you must learn that we have discipline in this school for very good reasons. Yes Sir I know that, it's just that in the case of Mr XYZ, I haven't seen any good reason yet"

<another long HM sigh> "He is a valued member of our staff, now run along now and I don't want to see you here again! Yes Sir."

Those are my principles, and if you don't like them ... well, I have others.
Groucho Marx 1895-1977

I also have mine, and if you don't like them ... tough, live with it.
