Hi guys, I was watching a documentary on tv about seti@home and thought it would be fun to participate. So, here I am .. I have been running the software for a few days on a pretty old machine. I had to throttle the cpu to keep it from maxing out the processor and so far seems to be performing fine. I will probably only do the seti@home task on this machine as I see some of the other task require much faster cpu's and graphics cards. If someone could suggest other task that an older machine might be able to handle I may add those in future as well. One thing I am wondering about is, what are CREDITS and what do you use them for or is it just for knowing how much work you have completed? [/b] |

You may want to try Primegrid, and then the Proth Prime Search (LLR) and Sophie Germain Prime Search (LLR), these always worked fine on my old AMD. http://www.primegrid.com/ Credits are a way for the project to thank you for doing their work for you. You can't exchange them for anything in the real world. They're used to show others how good you've been doing, on this project and others. |
