I'm new to the Seti@home and Milkway@home program slections. It's been about 12 days since I started and am amazed to see the various programs downloading. Is there one or more web sites I can visit to actually see what is being visually looked at in real time? The screensaver is awesome but I don't believe it is current. Thanks, Tom

Hi there, and welcome. I myself have only been running boinc/seti for about two weeks.

I'm not sure that there's anything that's going to tell you specifically what [part of the sky?] you are working on... If there is though I'm interested to know. I know all your work units have ID numbers, so that's a possible way to "trace" what they are.

However, If your looking for something more visual, look into setilive [http://setilive.org/]. I havent read much about it but from the little I do know, that may be more like what you are looking for?

Good Luck

p.s. you are lucky to get to enjoy that screensaver, my seti projects are running on linux boxes without real monitors/displays. :-)

Thank you so much, I love it. Many, many years ago when I was in my late teens attending Penn State, I worked for my older brother one summer building the satellite dish transportation network for the VLA outside Socorro, NM. Although I have never been in the science industry, I'm constantly touched by the strides we make. Great stuff, Thank you.

The screen saver shows what your computer is working on. I am not certain that there is anywhere we can see where the telescope is pointing right now - whch nobody will be processing for at least a week. First the transfer disk has to fill - then it has to be shipped from the telescope to Berkeley. Then there is pre-processing...

How about the Current Telescope Sky position on http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/sci_status.html ?

BOINC will only run one task / CPU at a time. You should have 4 tasks running at the moment. It will switch between projects occasionally. Sometimes you will have all the CPUs running tasks from a single project, and sometimes you will run a mix of projects on the different CPUs.
