I am unable to connect and haven't been able to figure out why. Under the status tab I have a Communication Deferred status. How do I change that???

You get not only the status deferred message, but in the event log also the reason why this is: The project has run out of work. Something broke at the project and we'll have to wait until someone gets into the office.

The project isn't manned 24/7, as they don't have the man-power nor the money for that. So patience it is, or add other projects to BOINC to do some other science and fill in the waiting gap.
