Are they still throwing Holy Water at the paper organizer? Or have they turned them upside down and use them as monitor stands? :) PROUD MEMBER OF Team Starfire World BOINC |

Are they still throwing Holy Water at the paper organizer? You know if you asked for monitor stands I imagine it could happen, but those books do seem to be doing a fine job. I have been looking at those VESA mounts that clamp to the desk for my own use. Are they still throwing Holy Water at the paper organizer? There was talk about making the paper organizers into a giant monolith, which begs the question...do they understand the technology and purpose behind the organizers? Here's to hope though! Are they still throwing Holy Water at the paper organizer? LoL, 'these new hats are useless! they don't fit over Matt's hair!' For some good monitor stands... That looks good....only, we would have to make another monitor fundraiser to get all of them a second one...... Christoph |

For some good monitor stands... From the specs it only suits monitors up to 22" in size. We purchased 24" screens, so it won't fit 2 monitors unless the 2nd one is quite a bit smaller. I think we'll need to keep searching. BOINC blog |

I think funds for stands could be best spent elsewhere on more vital equipment. Da boyz in da lab know what they want and/or need. Unless they get foolish, get dem what dey wants. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

Quick bit of news: The only thing that sticks out to me are the $2 speakers from 10-years ago. I had about three boxes of these un-opened, which I tossed out during my last office clean up. The sound that you get from these are worse than terrible. Arvid Arvid Almstrom |

But perhaps the neighbours are thankful. |

Sadly I don't have any news yet. I should hear back from Matt (fingers crossed) soon about current status/new projects. One thing I can mention is that I'm hoping they let us replace the remaining workstations in the lab with our new shuttles. That would be a fundraiser for another 3 Shuttles (Eric, Jeff, Lab machine). We might not end up replacing Jeff's as his is a 32 bit system which is needed for legacy compiles. I'm also exploring a few avenues in which I think hardware is needed, but we'll have to wait on a response from the guys before moving ahead. More news as I get it. Thanks everyone! Eric asked us for a KVM switch for his office as his current one was dying. We purchased him: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817107416 We used funds from the General fund for this purchase which came out to $91.15 shipped. You can track this purchase once it ships by visiting http://www.gpuug.org/purchases Executive Director GPU Users Group Inc. - brad@gpuug.org |

Eric asked us for a KVM switch for his office as his current one was dying. We use many of those in our test lab. In the years of use we have only had an issue with one of them. Even en it isn't that big of an issue. It just looses its saved settings when the power goes out. Which reenables the beeping.
