I am new some help

guys i have no idea what im supposed to do once i get an assigned task.anyone can help?

I saw a 3d graph on TV that my computer would be doing once I sign up, however I dont see that. Was that just something the TV show was trying to show us???

Please help.

I think they were referring to a 3D wave-like image. I also am having trouble getting my program to activate.

I too am having some problems..... I loaded up both BOINC, AND SETI@HOME, they both appeared to have downloaded properly, but still I see nothing working. No projects at all. I loaded these up about a month ago and have been in here checking at least daily with no projects working.
Is there something more I need to do to get on board???

This is a technical question about my account name. I got a new computer years ago and didn't put Seti on the new computer and simply forgot about it, until recently. I came on the site and remember my user name but not the password, actually I thought I did but the account might be inactive. I did a search of the name and it's still there opened in May 1999. I tried to open a new account with the same username and it worked but now there are 2 accounts with my same username, one from 1999 and the new one for 2012. My question is, can I somehow get my old account deleted so there isn't 2 accounts with my same name? It's been inactive for 8 or 9 years.

Did you try the "Special instructions for SETI@home Classic participants" on the SETI@home homepage?

... and paste your old email (not user name, not any password)

The 2 accounts will be merged.

Thank you so much for your help but I tried all the email addresses that I might have used at the time and it keeps saying there is no account with that email address.

What is the shutdown procedure before I turn off my computer at night?

nothing special. BOINC should shut down your work gracefully. Be warned there are alpha and beta projects that do not save work as its processed. IF you shut one of these down you'd have to restart the work from the start.

Seti again does have checkpoints so no worries
