Reprise of the rules.

The winner of the previous round posts a picture and a question about it. Typically "where.

You may not use "tin eye" or similar reverse image look up sites.

Please do not use EXIF data from the image to help. (note to posters, please remove EXIF data). This can include titles and location data.

Please do not allow 24 hours to pass between clues.

Questions deserve an answer (with the exception, of course, of directly asking for the answer).

We will have to figure out how to deal with winners that go AWOL.

Clues may be text or photographic.

Contestants may use text searches to look for images (in particular images.google.com is allowed to be searched via text searches).

There is no rule about having visited a place. If you have visited a place (or not) and instantly recognize where the picture is, go for it.

If you post a picture of a previously entered place that is easily recognizable as that place, you get to pick a different picture.

Please try to choose a picture and question where it is possible someone else will know or be able to research your answer. For example a picture of someone in your family and asking for the name will be just impossible for anyone else to get.

PM The winner.

OK, here is an easy one. Picture taken by my wife on summer vacation 2009. The small lumpy grey thing in the foreground is me. I need the name of the large lumpy gray thing in the background.

Correct Byron! Take it away. Maybe we should use something besides Canadian pictures for a while, so the others can play too;).

Dear Bill,

Would you be so kind as to allow me to pass on picking the next Mystery Photo,

and to please bestow that honor of picking the next Mystery Photo to one of the other Gentlemen or Ladies ?

I would really appreciate it,

Sincerely and
Best Wishes
Byron

OK mods, now what?

Winterknight and Gary were both close. Maybe we can get them to play rock scissors paper?

Okay, each one of you post a pic of either rock, paper or scissors and we will determine the winner.

They are Northrop Black Widows. The vegetation looks more European than Pacific, so I'm guessing somewhere in the UK?

Yes, photo is from 1945. They are P-61 Black Widows. Not UK.

Looks a lot like an old airfield west of Palmdale that I almost bought. On the road now so will have to check my files when I'm back at home.
