My only thought is the fact I use the ATI card to pipe 7.1 audio (and sometimes 1080p desktop) to a Sony STR-DH810 receiver, as well as running HDMI from my on-board nvidia 750a (8400GS GPU) to a 23" acer and VGA to another 21" So far in my troubleshooting I haven't gone to lengths to disable displays since this would actually start to hinder my normal use of the computer; however I'm about to give that a shot to see if I can increase the crunching. http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/hosts_user.php?userid=9689382 Any suggestions/comments are appreciated. I guess this is http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/show_host_detail.php?hostid=6563153. I suspect you need to install the nVidia drivers rather than use Microsoft Corporation - WDDM v1.1 on the nForce 750a SLI. If you post the motherboard model that would help tell what the best drivers to use are. The generic drivers are available via http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx and I expect http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce-vista-win7-32bit-15.56-driver-all.html is what you should use. | |

Its an XFX branded nForce 750a Motherboard. Good call though, I cant believe I didnt notice that. Do you think it'll be okay to run both driver sets at the same time? | |

Its an XFX branded nForce 750a Motherboard. Good call though, I can't believe I didnt notice that. Which both do you mean? The nVidia will replace the M$ one. If you mean nVidia at the same time as AMD/ATI then I gather it's possible, but have never done so. Good luck if you try it! | |

Its an XFX branded nForce 750a Motherboard. Good call though, I can't believe I didnt notice that. I think Claggy is the expert on that. I think it involved choosing the right order for the two cards to appear on the PCIe bus, followed by the correct order of installation of the two manufacturers' drivers. IIRC, the drivers were 'NVidia first, ATI afterwards', but I can't remember the bus order. | |

I'm not sure the order on the PCIe Bus matters, i've always run the Nvidia card as the first device, and the ATI as the second, (i think arkayn and jamie might have run them in the other order) The drivers should be installed Nvidia first, ATI second, otherwise the Nvidia drivers overwrite OpenCL.dll with their version, and then OpenCL computation on the ATI GPU doesn't always produce correct results, Claggy | |

Its an XFX branded nForce 750a Motherboard. Good call though, I can't believe I didnt notice that. I've switched mine around so the Nvidia card is in bus 0 now due to heat issues the other way. But I found it works either way. With the OpenCl.dll, I've found it doesn't actually matter which way round you install the drivers as long as the OpenCl.dll in the C:\Windows\System32 folder is always from the ATI install (they use a slightly higher version). So when upgrading the Nvidia drivers I copy the existing (ATI version) dll to a safe location, install the new drivers then paste the ATI OpenCl.dll file back into the System32 folder. Saves around half an hour of messing around with uninstalling and re-installing the ATI drivers, and still gives valid results | |

Currently I do not have a AMD card in my main machine, waiting for Thursday to roll around to put a HD7750 in there. I usually put them in whatever order comes to my hand first. | |
