I can't belive it Guido/Zippy Actully palces cookies
in his graphics. Watch you security settings. Remember the ww2 bomber that he placed in all threads
it had cookies pointed to all his websites and aliases. The only way this can be done is a deliberate act.

So beware.

This is not a flame this is a warning to make sure your security settings are up to snuff....

Guido
perhaps wrong but only viewing above settings, they are not setting Cookies
ON or OFF, only the "run mode" (SSL based environment or not) can be selected here.
I think, ask for help, review more preferences pages to try the best, to exclude the use of cookies.

Take a look in your reference guide to get the howto set of.

BTW, for seti AND for cpdn AND for LHC AND for pirates!

I do have a cookie too....
(automat. login!!)

Guido,

You can change that at will Guido

I stand by my posts, I find it objectable that you play these silly
games.

At one time I felt you were misunderstood and was willing to
forgive you thinking it was a language problem. After reading your
post’s in other forums I realize that you do play silly games.

Every where I go there's Guido posting silly things.

It's o.k. to be funny once in a while but you always sabotage the
intended meaning. Please remove all your graphics from your posts
and be serious once in a while. Help other users and become a good
netizen to SETI and Bionic.

I have been with SETI for over 5 years now and it has been an enjoyable
expierence. Guido these last few weeks have been miserable when every where I go in the forum I have to get past your graphic junk and nonsense.

Thank you for removing the Picture of the Plane, Maybe you can go thru and remove all the graphics from your posts. I suggest you learn how to disable
cookies as soon as possible. This creates such mistrust in the community.

Give it a try Guido...

I thought that cookies would have been "Kuchen" in German - Not "Biskuits". Learn something new every day.

Beware of angry individuals who don't understand technology.

> Actully palces cookies in his graphics.

Cookies are not placed IN graphics-- that statement does not even make sense.

> The only way this can be done is a deliberate act.

Yes, they are a fundamental part of web architectures, with legitimate purpose. That is like saying the road has concrete-- beware-- it could only have concrete as a deliberate act!

> Guido Please remove the Hyde Park Map it has cookies attached to the picture.

Yes, so if your browser loads this image, you get a cookie from 2hydearksqure.com. As it would if you loaded an image almost anywhere, cnn.com, msnbc.com, whatever.

HTTP is a stateless protocol. A website that is receiving request has no way to determine which request is from who-- so cookies where added, enabling people to actually log into websites, people to have accounts, and websites to do discretionary access control based on the requesting person, identified by their cookies. Many web servers return session cookies by default now because these features are so commonly used.

A while back there was a company (doubleclick.com I think) that would have a bunch of its customers add images to their sites, the images were hosted at doubleclick.com. In this way doubleclick.com could tell which of the individuals visited multiple customers' sites. So the privacy invasion required cooperation and collusion among a large number of web sites.

There is no privacy issue involving the cookies of a single site. The site already knows you are visiting it from access logs, etc-- cookies add nothing.

Cookies that you ask for are good, like a Google preference. Cookies that spring out of nowhere are not. Cookies should be opt-in.

Achiestgragon and Redshift/

All I am saying is every time I go to a page that Quido has put
a graphic on my spy ware goes nuts. I trace the cookies and
they are tracking cookies which tells Guido were I have been
and what I am doing.

You can’t debate that. If I went to Guido’s site then that would
different. But not here.

Speaking of the subject, this is well suited to this thread.

Guido definition:

Guido is an acronym for:
Graphical User Interface Design Objects ...

Guido commands come in two flavors. There are Guido container objects and Guido widgets. A Guido container is an object that contains other Guido objects that may be containers or widgets. A container object is used to organise the layout and appearance of your form. A Guido widget is an object that is used to retrieve information from a user.

If I were to debate it, I would start by arguing that it is technically impossible.

The the only way somone (guido) could use cookies from their site to track where you have been is if (1) you first logged into their site, so that there is some association between your ID and the cookies being sent out. Without logging in there is no such association. And (2) guido would have to have control of the 'CONTENT' of all the other sites you visit. Both (1) and (2) are unlikely in this case.
