Well, we're back kind of, and I have during the downtime made my decisions on how I will continue.

I will not upgrade my opt installation until the release of MB V7 is included in the package too. No separate AP 6 app will be installed.

Until then I will continue to crunch MB 6 in all flavours, and the odd AP 505 resend.

I will continue on Beta too, but only run stock, meaning I will crunch whatever the project sends my way, including whatever new apps they want to Beta test.

Oh good, more AP v6 Wu's for me to have then, ;-p

Do know that the latest AP app is about 10% faster, and can still do AP v505

OK, so why are the crickets dead? Why does the html status page say the servers are running, but boic cant reach em?

Did someone perchance unplug the router and forget to plug it back in?

Anyone got any ideas?

Deleters aren't deleting at all. I guess disk space is going to over soon...

I've got 150 shorties in download backoff, and some 18 hours off being processed. If APv6 continues being split and clogging the pipe, will we notice the storm?

Not quite yet - the new installer hasn't been released yet, and won't be until Eric tells us he's happy to open the floodgates (he hasn't said anything yet).

Once everything is ready, you will need to upgrade with the new Lunatics installer, yes. But there'll be plenty of news about that on this message board when the time comes - just keep checking here every day or two.

Edit - to answer the other question in your PM: there's no reason to update your version of BOINC because of this, just Lunatics.

Um. As things stand, you may be waiting a loooong time for that, maybe even for Godot.
Now that I've officially said that, Murphy dictates that Eric is going to release MB V7 next Tuesday :D.

But since you talked about Murphy, you threw him out of anything predictable and into "surprise us with whatever is least advantageous" mode.

One thing I'm seeing and that I object to vlars being run on the gpu again, I've got 3 running right now that will take nearly 2 hours, I've aborted some that take 3 and 4 hours, I thought vlars were for cpus only???

There are no tasks listed for your host with a .vlar extension. Please give specific examples, a link to the WU if possible but at least task name and date it was sent. It is just possible that an old splitter which doesn't add the extension has resurfaced. It is also possible that the long run times are caused by something else.

Well they weren't listed as vlars, they just looked like them, kind of anecdotal now as they've been reported after I aborted them...

On one aborted one the wingman reports AR 0.84 http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=951044843

you have a number of errors though that have

SETI@home error -1 Can't create file -- disk full?
in checkpoint()

in stderr. You may want to check the harddrive.

I had a few tasks with AR 0.287 that are longrunning, but I suspect you have a different problem.

I haven't gotten any notices to increase the size beyond 10GB and I did do a chkdsk /r and the disk is fine. I have a 500GB hdd with 411GB free at the moment, kind of hard to have run out of room.

Last tab in Boinc Manager called Disk, under Total disk usage... How much have you got available to Boinc?

Really? How did you manage that? If it's reading Exactly 10GB, then you must have set your preferences to 10GB plus the size of your apps, Wu's, xml's, etc, ie everything that makes up your Boinc installation.

I have my Disk: use at most preference set to 10GB, the used by Boinc says 981.22MB, while the free available to Boinc us only 9.04GB (on my E8500/9800GTX+)

Only 10Gig?, mines set at 100:-)

Space is the least of my worries, now its temps again:-( Got a brand new Palit GTX560 to keep my existing Palit GTX560 company and so I could put my gtx460 into rig 2..

Brilliant! The new GTX560 runs at 80c with a s@h cuda WU, the old one runs at 66C
So now I'm back to the situation I'd hoped to escape, putting an non s@h cuda task on the new gtx560:-(

Trouble is s@h just up and grabs the GPU if it happens to feel like it on the 60 min switchover.

So either I monitor the system 24/7 or I suspend s@h when I'm not able to keep and eye on things..
Looks like I just wasted £140 on a new card for nothing.

Cheers,
Cliff,
