Im sure if you had a job aligning telescopes could have a lifetime of work here. Id love to see its results if any as much as SETI. I almost feel we are missing something, frequency or type of communication. I cannot imagine another intelligent race not having a form of stellar communication. Could be burst communication incredible amount of information in a short duration message. Logic being stars move to and object moving one way communication releivent to distance speed and location. Sheer distances to exploration of the stars equal extreme distances. Us we humans stuck forever in our own solor system due to sheer distances to close stars.

It seems that both bids win. ;)

WHAT?!

No bad thing, and good for gaining a larger array and redundant operation and from that hopefully more secure operation...

That also makes it a little more expensive and so I thought that option had been discounted.

Good it's going ahead and pan-continental as a bonus!

Here's hoping there's no political spoilers...

How long to build... two weeks to put a 30' dish in place, if its all built in factories. But this lot isn't just "put in place".
Years, likely.
I watched a 30' dish go up in a couple of weeks, 42 years ago. VBG.
