Credits are earned for work done correctly as verified by at least one other computer doing the same work.

They are used for tracking how much work you have done for the project. It can be used for tracking your progress against other computers you own, and other users, and not much else.

CreditNew - A broken system, understood by few, that awards seemingly random and widely varying credit to users based on work performed for a project. Used to inflate egos and inspire competition among project participants.

The help view of the seti screen online shows hours of credit (this is the screen you click on an area to get an explanation of the item). But, the actual screen on my computer shows some computation of cpu usage or something that means nothing to me. How do I get the credit to show hours of use like on the help view?

It only shows hours while it is actually computing on your machine. After that it is translated into credits. Credits take into account the speed of your machine as well as the complexity of the task. So credits are supposed to be approximately the same for any task across machines, and are supposed to be the same / hour for any particular machine across projects. (NOTE: they aren't quite the same, but they are supposed to be).

Is there any to find the number of credits that are pending and will be awarded once all the wingmen return results please?
Currently my two main systems show as below, so I guess it's quite a few.
All (3300) | In progress (919) | Pending (1433) | Valid (943) | Invalid (0) | Error (5)
All (3378) | In progress (1210) | Pending (1304) | Valid (859) | Invalid (0) | Error (5)

Nope, not anymore. That was something that the old back-end (forum) software would show, and then the Pending in your account would show all those. But as said, no more.

Thank you for the reply which is what I was expecting.
I guess I could add up all the times for GPUs + CPUs for both pending + valid and then come up with an estimate. Is it possible to ask the server for all the results rather than 20 per page and/or can I get the data back as XML? I suspect that asking for more than 20 would be quite a high load on the server though.

If you think about page-scraping, people have been banished for that, as yes as you think it adds a lot of overhead to the server. As far as I know, there's no option for getting your own task pages as XML file.

Thank you. I know page-scraping frowned upon which is why I was hoping XML was available.

I've fired off an email in David's direction, to ask if that's possible. I'll post any answer he gives me.
