kept pushing the power button on my machine to try and get it to come on (it was on, its just very quiet and the monitor was on another source) so there was a lot of powering on/off, does this cause errors?

Yes that can certainly cause errors. Also one of the quickest ways to corrupt/kill a hard drive.

The most recent two posts are off topic (Sleeping GPU" ) problems which NVIDIA has has solved in the last two releases of which 301.42 is the latest and shows no evidence of the prior problem of "Compute Errors" when Windows closed a monitor.

Been having a problem with computation errors ever since the May power failure. Am running SETI version 6.03 (CPU only) on an XP laptop. In the past week alone, I have had at least 10 units that ran for about an hour or less, then came up with the computation error message. Any ideas?

The Lunatics Optimised apps are are a set of hand crafted apps taking advantage of SSE, SSE2, SSE3, SSSE3, SSE4.1 and AVX, as well as ATI & Nvidia GPUs,
the CPU MB apps being around twice as fast as the Stock MB app, they are available in an Installer available at Lunatics.

Because you'll be using the Anonymous platform, the apps won't update from the project now, so you'll need to keep an eye out for an updated Installer from one of the Sticky Announcement threads, eithier here or at Lunatics:

You won't get it with that version, only 295.xx & 296.xx had the sleep bug. ;)

Cheers.
