root@name:/home/a# /home/a/BOINC/run_manager
./boincmgr: error while loading shared libraries: libwx_gtk2u_richtext-2.8.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I am trying to run boinc under debian. What do I have to do to make it work?

Which version of BOINC do you have? I understand BOINC is compiled on Ubuntu. I am running BOINC 6.10.58 on my SuSE Linux 11.1 because BOINC 6.12.34 could not run, because of missing shared libraries. From a thread in Test4Theory@home I learned that also SuSE 12.1, which I am planning to install, has the same problem.

thanks for your answer, i am running boinc 6.12.34.

Installing some missing packages did the job, i think it was libwxgtk-dev and libcurl3. Now boinc and seti are running fine.
