Well I've got some today. Mostly no work to send, but sometimes you get lucky.

I got 1 WU in the last hour and a half with 9 rigs asking for work.
Something has bottled up new WU generation.
I sent email to Eric, but he's not always around on the weekends, much less available to run into the lab to untangle things.
So, could be like this until Monday morning.

Oops, scratch that....

9.4 results per second is only around 3.4 MB/s and AP work is around 1.5 MB/s which is around 5 MB/s and cricket is starting to approach that data rate out.

yep something is wrong with the work output.

why only 5 MulyiBeam splitters!!!???!!!???

My #2 rig only has 177 GPU tasks left, of which 114 are shorties....

6.6 million Results returned and awaiting validation?!?!?!

I think we worked out during previous outages that "Results returned and awaiting validation" is a catch-all for "results that don't fit anywhere else".

In particular, I suspect that the near-enough 2 million WUs awaiting assimilation (and double that number, 4 million results at least) are lumped into 'awaiting assimilation'. Similarly, WUs/results awaiting db purging are very low, because they're all stuck in the assimilation stage (probably because of the science database problems earlier in the week).

"Workunits waiting for validation: 27" is reassuring, and suggests that the BOINC end of things is working OK.

Results returned and awaiting validation 6,695,265 MB 113,156 Astropulse WUs. As of 19 Feb 2012 | 2:10:07 UTC
Workunits waiting for assimilation 1,976,712 MBs and 1 Astropulse.

One host has a few 0.4AR and some VHAR WUs, of which none are uploaded, yet and Einstein and GPUgrid have send some additional work..........

How close is the Processing Rate away from 'Real Time'?

I can indeed confirm there is a disruption in the WUs. I've got several systems over the last 3 days receiving barely any and various others just about ready to run out.

Message 1197400 - Posted: 19 Feb 2012, 19:01:17 UTC - in response to Message 1196887.

No work for any of my machines either except for one slower one which has enough for five days or so. My most powerful ones have made dozens of requests for more work without getting any work units back. I saw a problem beginning to develop on the 17th with many long back offs. One was 11 hours and 32 mins. There was one spurt of availability for new jobs. Seems like it was a couple of days ago, but nothing new since then. My RAC has declined rapidly for SETI from the mid twenty k's range to the high teens. Have substituted work from GPU GRID (lots of Nvidia work available) and World Community Grid as well as some from Milkyway@Home I'm just trying to contribute in the best way possible and have been able to keep my two most powerful machines active. It has been a scramble. I see some posts from participants about the difficulty in getting new work, but very little from SETI about the lack of work units issue. I believe that many of us would be willing to make donations for new equipment. I've noticed that the graphics processors users group has made very substantial equipment donations recently of new servers for SETI. gpuug.org I am going to join their efforts and support their campaigns. It seems like a wonderful way to cut through red tape.

They have also (as of 11/18/2011) sent in their papers to become registered charitable org through the IRS. "As of 11/18/2011, the GPU Users Group Inc has filed for Tax Exempt Status 501(c)(3) with the IRS. Our application is currently pending."

Not sure how long that's gonna hang in there.
The assimilators do not seem to be up to speed, and that queue is still growing.

I've been getting some work too. It started for me just a few minutes ago for my two most powerful machines. Even got some work units that will take close to 5 hours. No work yet for my 3 Nvidia graphics cards. Those may have to stay with GPUGRID for a while. I am gonna make my first $50 donation to the graphics users group now. I really believe in these distributed computing projects. Just last Friday a medical assistant seemed very interested in them and knew some about SETI from watching Nova. I gave her the projects list, the links to BOINC and Seti at home and said to send me an e-mail if she needs any help in setting it up on her PC.

The GPUUG and Seti thank you for donating and your support of the project.

And the kitties thank you.

it seems they don't care about the results, last year they shutdown the servers to run nitpicker. now they got a dedicated machine but you never see it enabled which makes me think they don't really care about the science. perhaps they should hand the project over the the computer science department, i sure they can scrounge up time to keep it running and perhaps fix the hole ball of wax. with a 10Mb connection to the world, you would think the slowest of hardware could easily handle the task, which makes me think they made it all to complicated and it needs to be redesigned.
