correct, since the republicans seem hellbent on running liberals against liberals, i see no reason to bother voting, myself.

I vote conservative.

If they will ever run one again, i will vote for him.

Although, if he (0bo0) makes good on his promise to "Do away with the second amendment", i do foresee a second American civil war in the next 4 years.

Increasingly, I believe that once The Tea Party and Occupy movements realize they're pissed about some of the same things, they will join forces, and it won't be a "civil" war, version 2.0, that we'll be looking at. It'll be something else Version 2.0.

How little you understand. The Tea Party thinks the Government is to big and the Occupy movement thinks the government is not big enough to serve their needs. This alone would prevent them from ever joining.

Well didn't you cheat -- you worked -- isn't that cheating? <just kidding>.

For that I matter, I figure I need to travel even locally with my passport, I mean, I've been married to the same woman over 30 years, lived in the same house for 30 years and have no debt -- there are folks who might assume I can't be an American.

Regarding the Tejas Board of Education -- at least some of their positions tend to fail the reasonableness test. And if you feel compelled to toss names at Obama, you might reasonably allow that folks toss names at the state Board.

Absolutely not. I had a positive outlook. I see more and more people who look at what I have and think that I cheated to get here.

And I fear I'm going to wake up one day, realize I've been screwed and be called a fool for following all the rules.

And like a rape victim, I just want to hurry up and get through what's coming so I can get on with my life.

And when I see comments like skil's about the "department of edumacation," I consider that an uninformed, narrow and extreme point of view, so I feel obliged to respond in kind.

So the Tea Party is against Santorum's press to push for government driven Sharia law as a case of big government getting bigger. Good to know.

One thing to remember is the Tea Party is mostly on the local level. While they are generally against big government, a few of the sub groups want to make issues like abortion part of the agenda. If they move away from the big government issue into other issues it will fragment the group and it will become powerless. As long as they stick to the issue of big government, they can make a difference.

But with funding from the big boys (Koch brothers for example) as well as being used by big money folks.

Regarding birth control and abortion big government positions - I wonder what the money/political landscape would be like if instead of the Koch brothers, it was the Koch sisters.

Regarding big government -- it seems a lot of the TeaParty partisans are over 55 -- I suppose they are moving toward burning their medicare cards and social security checks to make government smaller.

On abortion, the thing everybody misses is that it is a state right and the federal government has no business making rulings on it. If you question that statement, look in the constitution and tell me where abortion is a federal power.

Medicare has done nothing but drive up the cost of healthcare and if insurance became available for people over 65 again, the elderly would be better off. Social security would be in far better shape if the government hadn't used the money for everything but. Both programs are not mentioned in the constitution. On the other hand, the programs have been in place for a long time and if the government were to end the programs, they should repay the money payed into the system. I can see where it would be a real mess to end both programs.

Much could be done to reduce the size of government without touching those programs. What is the best solution, I don't have a clue but I do know where to start and it would make many people unhappy so I would never be elected to political office.

Interestingly enough, Medicare costs per person (remembering that as the over 65 population rises, total Medicare costs go up by that factor as well), have increased at a rate LESS than the increase per person in the general population and LESS than the increase per person in health insurance. Interesting factoid that is.

This is thing about general welfare -- it gives for a lot of wiggle room constitutionally. But if you don't condone the general welfare, then small government becomes much easier to condone.

The Moon will be colonized ... the attempt would be made under Newt, not Obama. And I have to admit I'd like to see some push towards that effort, even if the only one talking about is Newt and he is being laughed at for it.

In response to Nostradmus, I rebutt with Die with Your Boots On.

un homme qui est un auteur des lettres.
Le matin du 27 février 2012,
il prédira.

Texas dept Of edumacation doesn't bother listening to the Fed. they set their own agenda and the Board is packed full of God Fearing COnservative Anti-Evolutionary bible thumpers. It's hard to learn science from people that provide text books that attempt to deny science

Ya. That's what wrong. Not enough athiests teaching our youngun's that Oblahblahblah is nothing more than a random role of the dice in which he hit the jackpot and won the lottery naming him the supreme ruler of the universe and will save us from evil corporations.

Less than a month before the 2008 election, McCain mocks your characterizations. Yep, these guys are buddies. Their "contest" and McCain's repeated outrages since the election at Obama's moves and policies are all theater. Who really pulls the strings?

It's something that was somewhat asked of Guy, not Dull, and everyone, I would think, should have some sort of response to the linked video and the suggestion I have made.
