Ahoy, shipmates!

The European Southern Observatory ESO has published a most detailed infrared image of the Carina Nebula stellar view: http://www.eso.org/public/news/eso1208/. ESO operates three observing sites in Chile, including the Very Large Telescope VLT.

Found some other interesting images and videos from the ESO site, too: http://www.eso.org/public/images/, http://www.eso.org/public/videos/. Here is an example: “Zooming on Terzan 5”, http://www.eso.org/public/videos/eso0945a/—this even might associate in one’s mind with Harry Martinson’s epic poem “Aniara”.

Yet another great find. Beautiful images, thanks. :)
