I think these fools have let their whisky cloud their brain cells.....

Scottish Government predicts "Oil Boom"

"In public, the SNP desperately insist the boom years are ahead, but in private we know they are deeply concerned that oil revenues are volatile, unpredictable and falling," he said."

So why the attempt to hoodwink their citizens? Expecting the EU to bail them out once they go independent?

Oh, so the Lib Dems/Lab/Con's are not hoodwinking us at all?

You seem to have forgotten some scandals....

So why the attempt to hoodwink their citizens?

The same way that the UKIP do. Anything goes to ride the wave of temporary popularity. Give it a couple of years and you won't hear anything from either of them. We all have our 5 minutes of fame, they have had theirs, time to move on.

Seems to me that their having a bit more than just five minutes here?
"Time to move on"...Exactly what voters have done, moved on to the UKIP and
away from the other main stream parties. Could be that the long five minutes
may finally be at an end for some of the other parties now.

We will see in 2015 Nick. A week is a long time in politics, 2 years is a lifetime.

Perhaps this is the reason why our politicians fail to plan beyond it.

Or why they don't really care as they think that the eelctorate are just dumb cashcows & soon forget their pecadillos when they lose & the other mob get in.

Unfortunately, this time around, the cashcows are beginning to really wake up!

Yes Minister, 2 years is a lifetime - Now go visit Huhne & tell him that!

I would be less than honest if I didn't say there was a element of truth in that. If they think they are going to be out of office, then why not just spend it all and to hell with it.

It is a convention for outgoing ministers to leave a note for their successors with advice on how to settle into the job. But former chief secretary to the Treasury Liam Byrne's note to Lib Dem David Laws was different. "Unfortunately, when I opened it, it was a one-sentence letter which simply said: 'Dear chief secretary, I'm afraid to tell you there's no money left,' which was honest but slightly less helpful advice than I had been expecting."

The letter recalls a similar note left by Tory Reginald Maudling to his Labour successor James Callaghan in 1964: "Good luck, old cock ... Sorry to leave it in such a mess."

And you wonder why I don't support either of the two mainstream parties!

Chris, can quite understand why you don't, and credit to you for it.
But, in one respect to the third party, I still see them as a body who still
wish to confiscate the people wealth hence use it as their own to spend and
waste.

Well, they have got to do something to swell the councils coffers because the
Scottish government isn't going to have enough cash to subsidise them all.
They came unstuck when they gave the public there the vote on congestion
charges. Got thrown out cos' no one was fooled by the claims that it both reduces
congestion and pollution. Did nothing of the kind when applied in London even at
five times the rate that it was to be charged in Scotland. Holyrood, if your
going to rob your people, don't tell them first and allow them to vote for it
because they aren't that stupid...Learn the correct way...just take the money
like Westminster and the GLC too do...because in the end your going to have too
come what may.

Sirius, I don't have a lot of confidence in this Scottish government, post
independence, all seem a bit wet behind the ears here, going to have to learn
a few fiscal tricks else their going to struggle somewhat???

Don't you believe it! That's just a con-job in attempting to make themselves look foolish to their electorate while behind closed doors they'll be doing what the politicos have been doing to us regarding the EU whereby they undermined the EEC.

Hope so, don't wont to be left thinking that the Scotts have found "a new way"
so leaving the rest of the UK behind.

Yep! C'mon, don't you? There's no way in hell any politician will do anything that is good for their country without first seeing what's in it for him!

If you vote for independence then you will all get free shares in Scottish Oil
PLC. For every one given out to the electorate each Scottish minister will be
given a thousand.

William Donaldson died in 2005 so you aren't him, therefore we can only conclude that the pair of you are just simply off your trolley. Just Because You're Paranoid Doesn't Mean They Aren't Out to Get You".

I doth hath a feeling that Chris has undergoing some form of political training
here coming out with these type remarks.

"I got used to it," says Taylor. "And I probably made more friends in prison than I have ever done in Parliament."

As the Minister is now on the "inside", suggest he visits Huhne & show him this report from the BBC.....

... sure does tell the electorate that those that enter parliament are just selfish muppets.

No doubt that Huhne will get a consultancy position within the Libs once out
of jail...and get paid for it too.
