Message 1191972 - Posted: 6 Feb 2012, 14:19:56 UTC - in response to Message 1191958.

I don't who/what opened the flood gates, but I just d/l'ed approx 50 tasks in about 20 seconds. It usually takes that long to d/l one task. Highest transfer was at 165 kbs; highest I ever seen for SETI even though I have seen Milkway come in at nearly 2000.

MB, not AP, right?

Searched the event log and noticed this took about 9 sec to come down the pipe. I have never noticed an AP come down this fast even using FIOS @ 25/25 MB.

so they were AP's...and no i've never been able to DL an AP task in only 9 seconds! usually they take several minutes each to DL.

I may have said this, or similar stuff a few times before, but I will say it again:

For all that is holy, gimme some AP's please.

i feel your pain, so let us pray together...

Well, right now the bandwidth is at max, and the splitters are doing MB only.
And the kitties are filling their kibble bowls.
Now you tell me what has changed....LOL.

Working well at the moment.

Have to be getting close to some new tapes for AP to chew on.. The tape list is getting short, MB production is at maximum, and a few more tapes are going to finish soon. C'mon AP!

I'm running out of MB work for my 2 GPUs. What is maxing out the cricket graph?

"Gimme, gimme, gimme an AP after midnight..." :)

Yngwie Malmsteen's cover is great, btw.

I got 4 APs summary, two for CPU, two for GPU, but rescheduled them all to be crunched on GPU.

I'm not far at all from running empty on the GPU's. The CPU is OK for a few more hours though.

Sounds like I'm doing better than some - got about 5 hours work left - then err, well...

One thing I have noticed is that when I get work, it flies down the tube at break-neck speed. By the time I realise work is coming down, its arrived.

That's that I've got as well. Once a machine gets an opening it will get 1 or 2 at 300+ and then might not be able to get another one for 5-10 hours depending on how lucky it is.

I also found an issue with the BOINC 6.12.43 I was using. In that it went bonkers and was not requesting work with 0 tasks on the machine. So I dumped most of my boxes today and went back to 6.12.33.

Why not 6.12.34 rather than 6.12.33?

Is something broken in this one as well?

No I just never downloaded it. So I didn't have all of the files handy.
As I have a large number of computers. I don't run the installer on them. I just run the files in a folder. Which does make it easy for my to deploy. I run a .bat to have them all quit BOINC, copy the files over the network, and then reboot the boxen. So I get 30ish machines done in about 2 minutes.

Well I got two APs earlier today, and now they're crunched and returned. Back to idle again.
