Message 1185833 - Posted: 16 Jan 2012, 23:11:35 UTC

I stopped running SETI just over a month ago as hardware problems caused the PC to crash with SETI (CUDA units were fine). I have now replace my motherboard and started SETI up again but it has not downloaded any CUDA units so is doing no GPU processing. Is there a general issue or is there something I need to set?
I have an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti with an AMD Phenom X6 running Windows 7 64 bit.
The version of BOINC is 6.12.34
Against the tasks it quotes the application as SETI@home Enhanced 6.03

It would be more useful to see the log entries during and after a request for work.

Assuming you didn't change your preferences to exclude GPU work, the most logical explanation would be that there was no work available at the time of your requests. But we can't say that for sure without seeing the aforementioned logs.

The BOINC version you're using has also been cited as making downloads occasionally problematic due to long offset times. Installing an earlier (6.10.xx) version of BOINC seems to help in that regard.

Since you have only "Requesting new tasks for CPU" and no CUDA tasks on board ('In progress')
You have to check here:
http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/prefs.php?subset=project

what is the setting for 'Use NVIDIA GPU'

Thanks, I've updated my preferences. Are there any local preferences I need to check? My computing preferences were to use GPU all the time and Activity was set to use GPU all the time.
