Anyone have any more news on this? There are a lot of PS3's out there and they have quite a bit of grunt for crunching, would be good to see a client developed for them.

I did read some time ago that Sony shipped some PS3's with a client for Folding@Home but having a look on my console I can't see this option.

Anyone have any insights or info?

Is this the end of it? Sure we have a whizzy C++ programmer out there (or whatever language PS3 software is written in nowadays) ??

If you can go online with a game, surely the same should be possible for BOINC?

There must be other options?

Does anyone know why Sony removed the Folding@home software from the PS3? I didn't ever see this on my unit, but other people have said it was there.

The [Install Other OS] and [Default System] features have been deleted.

Other
• The playback quality of some PlayStation® format software that is downloaded (as a purchase or for free) from PlayStation®Store has been improved.

• A security patch was added to address security vulnerabilities that may occur when playing MP4 format video files.

the folding at home client is still there .. its in the life with PlayStation section
