Nearly 1/2" is better than none, here that 1/2" is nearly a flood and they can happen in a flash, hence the term "flash flood".

When I was growing up I always liked rainy days, seeing the rain drip off the pine tree on to the sandy soil, it seemed so peaceful to Me, but that was nearly 42 years ago in Lomita CA.

I guess you like rain now and then when you're living in the desert...

And all of Southern California is a desert, to one degree or another, but yeah I like a little rain, cloudy days are nice. :)

It was only a few days ago we had 1-1/2" rain in 24 hours, now its blue sky and 65F temps. But just wait, from today we are gonna get 80mph storms and 3 months rain in 3 days ...... It's all just ruddy ridiculous!!

Morning fishwrap/newspaper forecasts 94F, TV news last night said 101-104 for the next five days.
80F on my patio at 0900 PDT - think I'll believe the TV weather guesser..
