Wow, we are going to get some winter after all. We are looking for cold for four or even five days, plus they are calling for snow: Real snow! Good old Canada, you can always count on this country for a good winter. |

So you are having cold winters in Canada? You do not get the hot breeze from the Gulf Stream? Anyway it is winter here as well even though snow is competing with sleet at times. Waiting for the summer to arrive. |

I had an early start this morning (5.30). Light frost on the car temp said 0C Was heading for Salisbury on the M3 not really thinking about the weather. I admit to possibly going faster than the speed limit when I suddenly noticed a patch of road ahead that didn't quite look right! Luckily I did nothing and my speed got me through quickly, but that feeling of the car losing all grip for those few seconds certainly gives the old heart a nasty shock! Needles to say I slowed down after that, better late than never. No matter how advanced we think we are the weather can always keeps us on our toes. |

No matter how advanced we think we are the weather can always keeps us on our toes. Or run us off the road!! An inexperienced driver would have likely had applied the brakes here. Result, gone sideways on the black ice then hit the dry surface the other side of this ice. Upon hitting this dry surface, sideways, the car would have flipped over and rolled several times. Occupant would be fairly OK if wearing a full racing harness plus helmet, if not then ??? Do you know just how wrong this is?? 60f today and a winter storm watch for tomorrow night, with the potential for the "15+ inches of snow blizzard" that's forecast just to the west to track into this area. Is it too early to blame the groundhog? |

In south London we've got about 1/2" so far and falling fast, and settling on roads and pavements. We will see what we have in the morning. I just hope it isn't, open front door, snow falls in :) Member of the People Encouraging Niceness In Society club. |

Just on 3.50 inches in my back garden out in Buckinghamshire in the Chalfonts area. Now becoming standard February weather especially going by the past four years now. Hmm? me thinks this global warming thing has got some answering to do?...seems all a bit up-side-down to me. Still, I've never been one to swallow the alarmist's global warming story. Just on 3.50 inches in my back garden out in Buckinghamshire in the Chalfonts Considering the North Magnetic Pole has been moving 40 miles a year towards Russia and is continuing to do so. Something might be up and I know it's not the temp. All I can hope for is that this is something temporary. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |
