There you go again, aurora from behind clouds: Another sleepless night.

I don’t know why, but you should be getting a great aurora show in Britain right now.

Well now there seems to be a reason for the quick on again off again displays of aurora that we have seen earlier today.

I tried to image Mars along with M95 and the new nova there. The line below mars is in the right place to be the nova.

It is getting brighter daily so it will get better as time passes.

We have cloud in this part of workers’ paradise of Alberta,
But if you are anywhere close to the Canadian border with
out cloud you will be treated to a nice light show
tonight. In Britain you may
be getting it now.

Not quite an Aurora, but:

I can see no reason why physics
would not work in the sun's
atmosphere the same way they
do in earth’s atmosphere.

Ah, the strange and mystical things one can do with moving fluids, be it liquids, vapours, plasma, or even magnetic fields (including combinations thereof...)

We have been getting a lot of
cloud so I can’t see any aurora,
but to-night I got a nice
image of Venus eclipsing the Pleiades.
You have to be careful the file is very large.

There should be an aurora display to-night in the north of the UK.

Look up tomorrow evening. Lyrid meteor show peaks. Should be good tonight and Sunday as well.

Here is a NASA video about it. Saturn and Mars are prominent too.

We may also be in for one the years
best aurora storms as well.
Let's hope it keeps up till
after dark. Must be good in
England right now.

Sorry to report 99% cloud,
Same as last night,
Just a big orange glow,
sometimes a county wide power outage would be nice . . . .

Right now, if you have a clear sky
and you live north of Wyoming,
you have aurora.
