Sky was quite a pretty orange colour last night - light pollution reflecting off low clouds :-(

Well we might have warmer weather, but I would trade a cold evening or two for a sight like that. Great Pictures Celt Tooth.

If it is dark in the north of the UK right now, you are in for a real good show.

I can only hope for a display here tonight.

I couldn’t get any Aurora last night but I did get the Moon, Spica, and Saturn all in the same frame. You can see it here:

We had a cloudy night, but I did get to see the three from time to time. Looked like a dragon's eye peaking at me then disappearing till later. Great image Celt.

I woke up from a fever at 02:00 not expecting to see any aurora, but lucky for me they were up there. So much for the predictions that Space.com puts out for aurora.
I am having trouble finding a place in Edmonton that can even order what I want. I’ll keep looking for another week, and then if I don’t find any thing I’ll try some other plan.

Edit: Wow, things have just picked up big time.

I just had to get up to take these images when Marie told me about the sky.
Good night in England for Aurora before the sun comes up.

Nasa posted a nice video of the solar flare. Expect some spectacular lights.

That flare was so bright it was messing with
the camera. You can see that after the flare
it looks like a tidal wave running from upper
left to lower right of the sun.
This one is big!
