I've gotten 1 whole VLAR onboard my main machine. I've resorted to backup projects to keep the CPU busy. unfortunately the Milkyway has now work right now so my GPU is idle

I am just getting back into computers after 20 years off,
and I don't even know where to look for my app info files.
If you could PM me with some advice and keep my ignorance
away from the message boards it would be appreciated.

thanks

john3760

I won't post on this probem in this thread again.
I have already gone off topic in the science threads
and realised my mistake (when it was pointed out).

It seems the servers are back up.

Just got 8 units.
But my cache is still 3 days worth.

My GPU's are once again empty, and I have a few CPU tasks left. Work requests are getting no tasks available. I guess I am getting used to this. I do long for the days when I can set my cache by days instead of limits. From full GPU limits to empty is just a few hours. But in the meantime, I'm just happily crunching what ever comes my way.

Looks like my last download was about an hour ago, but the statistics are starting to update again. Without the server status it's hard to say what's going on, tho' cricket graphs are more "normal". Just have to wait for working hours in Berkeley tomorrow, I guess -- I'm sure none of the crew live as close to work as I do (a mere ten-minute stroll to my office...).

Looks like I'm not the only one having issues getting work right now. Blue is doing just fine, uploading and downloading like normal, but Green & Red can't seem to get anything from the servers. They've both run dry. All is well I guess since I'll have to shut all my crunching rigs down soon for the next six months while duty calls. Come Fall hopefully things will have improved and I'll finally be able to hit 100K!

Just checked my tasks and I have 1985 pending & 901 valid since I started up in Nov. Is this normal, doesn't seem like a lot of valid WUs?

Yes, that's a normal sort of display. Valid tasks are purged from the database after 24 hours, to save storage space and give the database server a fighting chance of doing its updates at a reasonable speed.

The scientific outcome of the work, the 'canonical result' for the workunit, is transferred to another database, so nothing of importance is lost by this purging process.

Scheduler appears to be having issues again. There's work there to be done, it just won't allocate any.

That's only if you go by a page that's been stuck for over 20hrs now. ;)

Cheers.
