Mark up the offending WUs and then just go nuts with the "Retry Now" button.

It works every time, and it works even better if you first use "Network activity suspended" for 15 seconds, and then back to "Network activity based on preferences", and THEN go nuts on the "Retry Now" button. Not once, not twice, but repeatedly as fast as you can.

Mouses are cheap, and they're made in China faster than you can destroy them.

LOL

I dunno......I keep wearing out the clicks......

I bought about six of them on ebay when they were discontinuing the model I fancy...........

I can't afford a new one of my favorite, they cost too much since M$ discontinued them.

Have you tried getting the IP address for an alternate server into your cache? Claggy posted one method a bit before your messages. Another way is to stop BOINC (exit, or stop it if you are running it as a server) then issue the command 'ipconfig /flushdns' in a DOS command box or cygwin bash window -- then restart BOINC

Im not so sure that 6.12.34 is the culprit. Yes it has that god awfull backoff. But my P4 and Intel mac have no problem getting work. Its just my I7.

Im wondering if somehow the frequent request for work for the faster rigs some how get marked as ( to many reguests stop calling me ) By some quirk in the servers.

Im just talking out of my hat, But are any slow rigs having problems getting work with the 6.12.34 boinc?

Being an astropulse only cruncher I've had terrible luck getting work for months. Even missing work being split thanks to the backoffs. Now I have a little script doing the button mashing, still took three and a half days to get a full cache due to Boinc not asking for work with a download stuck.
I also bought a new mouse this week, it's had a good workout and is still alive. LOL.

.....6.10.58 Is not perfect, it just has shorter backoff's than the 6.12.xx.......

No 6.10.58 is not perfect, but it's a damn sight more user friendly than 6.12 :-)

I've no idea, I installed the latest version when I uprated this machine, I am not in the habit of upgrading software every time a minor upgrade is issued unless its a fix that I need, I then heard enough to realise that the latest flavour might be worth giving a miss.

It looks like .18 is having some slight problems right now as it takes a bit before loading the test page.

It depends on what you call a slow rig.

Something that has an RAC of a few thousand would not require a vast amount of requests for work to be filled to keep going at a steady rate, and as long as they have a large enough cache setting they probably don't even notice an outrage.

I agree. I switched from .18 to .13 in my hosts file and download rate increased from 2-4 to 24-25 Kbps.

You have to use a hosts file to do it.

208.68.240.13 boinc2.ssl.berkeley.edu
#208.68.240.18 boinc2.ssl.berkeley.edu

When both servers are running well, I keep both of them commented out (#).

Right now I have good caches on both machines.

Are limits changed? I used to hold 1000 tasks(2 GPUs, 2 CPU cores), but now getting message at about 870 tasks.
The only thing I did, which may interfere with it(I guess), I rescheduled all shorties from CPU to GPU.

P.S
Can it be only because I have GPU overscheduled, i.e I have more than allowed task per GPU?
Adding this postscriptum, because I just got another 45 tasks, just after getting message about reached limits. BOINC 6.10.58 x64.

Limits are still 50 per logical CPU Core and 400 per GPU as far as I know. Your limit should be 1000 overall. If it's only asking for GPU work, and you are already at 800 for them, it will give you that message even if the CPU is under the limit.

Looks like things are getting a little dicey.

Getting lots of servers may be down, etc.

Graphs are taking dips.

Yeah, not a good way to start the new year.
Traffic has dropped off- All recent requests for work have resulted in "Project has no tasks available" messages.
