http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/hosts_user.php?userid=701952 This is the userid for the computers mikey2345 has it shows 15799 computers. Unless you are using a very large company's entire collection of computers there is no way you can possibly have access to that many computers. Please merge your hosts and fix the problem that caused so many hosts to be generated in the first place. I have a lot of WU's waiting on your vast collection of computers that will never complete the WU's that have been downloaded to these fake hosts. |

Wow - what a fault. I note that they were created between 5th and 9th November. His machine had probably now exploded. |

It's been 8 days from the start of this thread. Is it a glich at Berkeley or is Mikey unwittingly doing this or is he doing it on purpose? I hope our boys see this and can correct the problem. Timmy |

The user might not even know there's a problem, other than getting "connection failed" type messages.. There was an "add-on" program floating around a few months back which with automatically do an "update" every xx minutes if there was no work, that basically bypassed the "wait for x day x:x:x" to reconnect. This was back when work was scarse.... The admins should however has this user's email addr to contact him/her, or should be able to disable the entire acct... Stuff like this really impats the "total CPU count" in stats, as this one user is the owner of 10% of the total hosts! |

@azwoody You have a extrem good remembering, I'm really surprised! Seeing the "unmaturity" of some Participats, the tools was taken away very quick, only hours later after first talking about. It's like offering a sharp knife for chopping salat or onions, U are never sure, if there isn't an abusement done with. friendly ric |

I don't see where it has started again. He only has four computers listed. One of them has downloaded hundreds of workunits without processing but the last one was downloaded on 5 Nov. |
