Hey Mark.

I'm a wee bit late to the game. My apologies.

My old man smoked and suffered his first heart attack at 30. He quit, but the damage done was too much. His second heart attack killed him at 39. This was long before by-pass and stent surgery was available.

Being the idiot that I was, I started smoking at 12 and smoked for 11 years before I quit for good.

If you go 90 days, I'll kick in another hundred. That's an even $1,000 on you if you don't make it.

Maybe that extra zero will help you get over the top! No cigarette is worth a thousand bucks.

Go for it.

Still hanging in there folks.
The kittyman is pretty ornery about now...LOL.
Back to work today...that should help keep my mind offa it.
This weekend will probably be tough, used to kicking back when the workweek ends and grabbing that pack of Pall Malls.
Just gotta drive by the gas station without stopping in for some.

Your'e doing great Mark! We are all routing for you!

Steve

Message to Kitties - sit on Kityman's lap, pin his arms down, cuddle him and make sure he's a good boy.

Yeah! Give this friendly man, Mark Sattler a thought, would you!

Anyway, most people are up at 7 AM in the morning, eating breakfast, saying or maybe even kissing his or her some 8 week younger / older wife / husband goodbye and saying be careful to the 1 or 2 children they send away for school at 7.30 AM.

Anyway, checking in at the work place just before 8 AM. Eating lunch for half an hour somewhere between 11.30 AM and 12.30 PM. Finishing up the workday at 4.30 or 5 PM and eating dinner having this finished up before 6 PM.

One and a half hour or so of rest before checking the television news.

In bed just before 11 PM, ready for another day's work.

No reason therefore to end up in a bar fighting at 2.30 AM Saturday morning if you happen to be a brave man.

Three things stand out when it comes to having a clean conscience.

First: Being effective in what you are doing in your life and / or business.

Second: Trying to obtain as best as possible profitability in what you are doing (not necessarily the same as a having a "profit motive" which could mean greed).

Third: Being aware of the principles regarding investment (if you need investment capital, please go to your bank asking for this).

And finally, give your husband / wife as well as children a thought while you are asleep and dreaming.

Anyway, as we all know, Mark is working on it.

Quit smoking!

The cravings are still stupidly compulsive.

That's your brain lying to you. It's hard not to listen to a lie you tell yourself.

Tell it it's a damned liar.

I'm starting to save-up to pay-off the bet.

You can do this if you really really want to. All we can do is to offer as much encouragement as possible. Try to spend as much time as you can in the company of other people who know what you are doing and will support you. It's when you're on your own that it will be the hardest.

Thanks for your faith in me....that helps a lot.
Came very close tonight...LOL.

Close only counts in horseshoes and heavy artillery.
You didn't cave - a small victory.
Small victories add up to large ones.

"Step by step the longest march
Can be won, can be won
Many stones can form an arch,
Singly none, singly none.

And together what we will
Can be accomplished still.
Many drops can turn a mill,
Singly none, Singly none."
-Leslie Fish, I forget the song title.

Maybe using the "N" word across the message board too many times today?

Mark just likes taking these vacations it seems around this time of year. ;)

I think that he does this just so he has to get a life for a while. :D

Cheers.

I really hope that it wasn't a deliberate stunt to get an excuse to start smoking again though. If it was, then the vacation will cost him around $1000. But hey, you can't get a good vacation in the Caribbean for under $1000 either....

Maybe it is just all about starting up another thread...

Aren't we supposed to be doing all this stuff for a good cause in mind?

Please help Seti@home by donating a couple of spare cycles, will you.

Thanks!
