Are there some posts missing here?
I was looking for my post to find out how much I now owe, but can't find it. Looks like the replies only date back from January.

[Edit]
I found 'em. I owe £25. I shall get it paid at the weekend.

Yeah, I saw that after I'd given up looking for my first post. I can only claim to be in the middle of a Fibromyalgia flare up, so last night was either pain or prescription analgesics. I don't remember which, but either one accounts for my lack of concentration. Today is the same. Right now its the analgesics, so I can't work today, but at least I am feeling no pain.

I should really take this machine apart and remove dust bunnies as the temps are running slightly high, meaning I have to leave the CPU on 'high performance' instead of 'max performance'. However the opiates leave me with CBA. (Thats 'Can't Be Arsed' for those who didn't know.) ;)

Probably unwise to tinker with things that involve electrickery in my current condition anyway.

Not being pickie, but when are we expecting an outbreak of new "shooting stars"?

Or is it one of those things on the lab-tuit list, and with all the server and database work of late the supply of round-tuits is awaiting replenishment...

I think the supply of round-tuits is in negative number right now.

Just as I guessed.
Ah well, it will arrive, when the lab's round-tuits draw is replenished, but not before. There are after all more important things than shooting stars, like servers that work, databases that aren't broken, and links to the internet that are fast and stable....

Mark, congratulations on making three months without a smoke!
Keep fighting those urges; do not give in to them.
This has and will continue to show benefits: You and the kitties are all healthier because of quitting and SETI@home has benefited from it also.

I quit cold turkey 8 years ago now.
I found the build up to quitting was the worst part for me, the quitting part was pretty easy. I also quit drinking the same day.
I dont miss either one.

Good Job mate :)

My wallet has certainly benefited from it!

Amazing how that works, eh?

I quit smoking about 18 months ago. Nice chunk of money there.

Then I noticed about a year later that I had gained enough weight that a long walk from a parking lot was troublesome, so I looked at what I was eating and was shocked at what I was spending.

So now I save about $1500 per year not paying for cigarettes - AND without being too draconic I save over $10,000 per year on food by simply eating on a sensible diet, and buying food from the grocery store.

I've lost 45 lbs in the last six months too, and that parking lot walk is no big deal.

I wish I had had the good sense 20 years ago that I've recently developed, but if wishes were fishes...

Good luck keeping off the death sticks.
