The Kitty smoke stop fundraiser.......

Hey mark I will renew my star on the SETI project for $15 if you quit. I'm unemployed right now but will do the $15 to seti if you quit. ( I donated last year for the new servers)

I am real lucky I never started smoking as a kid as I later got Asthma as an adult. Every time I ran I lost my ability to breath easily. I expect I would be dead if I had started spoking. Good luck stoping.
Over the last few years my asthma has gotten better and I no longer need the inhaler to breath while running. I am lucky in that regard.

If you fail, you find me two volunteers to help me write grants and proposals.

Succeed and I will kick in 100 bucks to the astropulse server fundraiser.

I'll bung in another $15 Mark. I gave up 5 years ago after smoking most of my adult life. At £4.50 a packet then, I simply couldn't afford it any more. Now they're at £7 .....

Luckily I was only a social smoker, not a real nicotine addict, but it was still hard enough to do. But even now I know my chest isn't as strong as it should be. However you have put in place the two main aids to success. Firstly, a good enough reason to want to quit in the first place, and secondly telling everyone about it as an incentive not to fail.

Also, I recommend stocking up on sugarless gum. Keep your mouth busy and you might have less inclination to light up :p

My brother Sergio, a merchant marine captain, smoked up to 40 cigarettes a day. When skiing on the Gran Risa slope, where a Giant Slalom event is run every year, he broke his leg. The doctors advised him: if you don't stop smoking your bones will never join. So he stopped smoking and is now, retired, in Genoa, aged 77 and soon 78, in good health. But his wife still smokes, like many women do in Italy.

My mother smoke for 38 years and quit 10 years ago, and she is very well on these days. I´m pretty sure you have all the motivation you need around you, but here is some more.
