GTX670s in stock at the egg.... My son just ordered one. I see we are back, or did we just stay, at the prices here being the same numbers but the symbol changes. when the exchange rate is £1 = $1.61 in my books $399 should equal £248 but are £300 before taxes. |

Well looking at that graph I think I'll stick to the GTX580................ Also the question remains: dp performance? |

Well looking at that graph I think I'll stick to the GTX580................ Being the same GPU cut back a notch, dp performance will be similarly cutback. Those needing high double precision performance for other purposes (not a heavy impact here), will probably want to wait for 'BigK' jason "Living by the wisdom of computer science doesn't sound so bad after all. Just ordered 2 of the eVGA SSC Signatures at Newegg. Finally I find a worthy set for replacement of the trusty GTX 480. So now I just gotta figure out the quirks with SaH and running on multiple cards. Heh. Been quite an upgrade month for me Q9650 w/480 to 3770K w/ 670 x 2!! Can't wait to see how these things perform. Just ordered 2 of the eVGA SSC Signatures at Newegg. Finally I find a worthy set for replacement of the trusty GTX 480. If you've been relying on that 480 for room heating & noise masking purposes like I was, you might need to get a warm blanket & leave the TV on for background noise. GTX670s in stock at the egg.... Ok so I am quoting my own post, but it seems I have backing. Apple co-founder Woz weighs in against tech giant on price discrimination Should this question be applied world wide? |

Ok... who knows a good "shrink?" (for non-English speakers; that's "head-shrinker" which is slang for Psychiatrist) There is definitely something wroooong with me. Very, very wrooooong with me. I haven't been this excited about a thing since I bought my very first GTX 460 SOC model. And that, in and of itself, says there is something very, very, very wrooooong with me. This is better than... wait; no... no it's not. ...but it's getting awfully CLOSE! |

Ok... who knows a good "shrink?" I may be able to help, my brother in law is a shrink, but to be honest with you I think he is madder than me, so that may not help. He may have an excuse though, one, as he married my sister and two, they have four daughters in the late teens and early twenties. |

My father-in-law was a shrink. I'm hip. He may have an excuse though, one, as he married my sister and two, they have four daughters in the late teens and early twenties. I've got one about to turn 16 and another that just turned 18. I grok the whole scene. Does anyone have any useful drugs they'd like to share with an unfortunate soul? I hope I got my order in on time to be delivered tomorrow. Darn weekends. |

He was of the opinion that the only difference between the doctors & the paitients was that the doctors were allowed to leave while unsupervised. Grant Darwin NT |

DispalyPort even :-) Hehe. Are you sure that's the real thing, and not something manufactured in a basement factory for illegal computer hardware, somewhere in China? No, they are real. Those boxes were on my desk and the cards are now in my machine. MSI really rushed to get them to retailers it would appear. you can even see it on the MSI webpage: http://msi.com/product/vga/N670GTX-PM2D2GD5.html |

Got both of mine in today. Just going through my setup with Boinc to try and see what snags I may find. Do I need to turn SLi off when crunching? Traveling through space at ~67,000mph! |

Cuda drivers should see through sli in most cases, but dual GPU card owners (295 & maybe 590) spuriously report sometimes that you need it disabled manually, so driver level control there may not be entirely constant. jason "Living by the wisdom of computer science doesn't sound so bad after all. Thanks, yeah it seems to be doing ok with SLi on. Right now I have them both set to run 4 WU's at a time but may end up adjusting a bit. GPU usage seems to be hovering in the 40's but memory usage reporting is a bit wonky. Can't really tell. G1 is reporting 2048 being used which is the entire memory and G1 reports 41943!! Not sure what to make of it yet, this is the first SLi rig I've ever had. (BTW this setup is a MONSTER is BF3) Temps are staying nice too with the setup I got now. Granted the CPU is still under water so that heat isn't there, but temps are hovering around 60C, 70C at spikes with Seti crunching 4x per card. Is this what should be running or should I raise or lower this limit. It kind of looks like it could handle much more, but the memory reporting is off so I'm not sure.
Thanks jason. I knew once opun a time I thought I heard you had to turn it off. Seems to be running ok. Traveling through space at ~67,000mph! |

Outside my edit window for the last post. A GTX 670 does not like 4 tasks at a time. It maxed the memory out and choked the processor levels down. Once moving down to three at a time the gpu's are using 1557mb of vram and the gpu is at 97% utilization. I believe if they had more memory on board (mine are only 2GB) they may be able to handle 4 at a time. Just passing it along. Anyone else have 670's yet have any feedback on your setup? Apple co-founder Woz weighs in against tech giant on price discrimination I can't speak for 'world wide', but certainly Australians have been gouged on prices (at least for electronics) for a very long time. Even considering the short supply of the GTX 600 series, I don't think it's reasonable that GTX 690s are being sold for AUD1600 when the RRP in the US is USD 1000 (I know with market shortages, they tend to be going for USD 1200...). And 1 AUD is still more than 1 USD at time of writing, and has been since at least December last year. While not as extreme as the GTX 690 prices, I've seen GTX 680s for AUD 600-700 (USD 500 in US, as I understand it), and GTX 670s for AUD 510+ (USD 400 in US). I'm not sure where Jason gets his GeForce cards, but suffice to say that there is a hefty premium over whatever Americans are charged, in Australia. :/ Soli Deo Gloria |
