The issue is the unfounded 99.999999% up time expectation of a few.

The issue is the unfounded 99.999999% up time expectation of a few. Can you see what they would say if they crunched LHC@home?

Or Orbit@home. I recently attached to that only to discover that it doesn't have any work available. But I'm not whining about it. I'm more worried about why my latest computer just today finally downloaded its first Einstein unit nearly 3 months after I installed Boinc on it.

Don't you think the admins get as tired about not answering these questions as you do about asking them?

No I do not. I think the admins are either ignoring the problem, or are ignorant of the effect it has on the moral of the project users.

It's not too many computers, it's a lack of circuit breakers for this room. But we can fix it :)

Some of the whiners here have reached an almost legendary status. Yet, all their whining hasn't converted those of us who truly believe in this project, and have some understanding of the herculean effort it takes to keep tweaking unreliable equipment, while at the same time dancing to the ever-changing tune that Dr. A plays with BOINC.

So mostly, the whiners vent, and move along, away from this project, or away from distributed computing in general. IMHO, that is their loss, not ours, or this project's.

Thanks for that. That's what I tried to say above.

LOL, nice for a movie The Winers & threatheners, btw. you used a whole forum thread for this ;-).
Some act if if their live is at stake?!
I have tried a few other projects and just finished to DLoad some work, 1 retry
triggers a whole qeue, it even reached 20Kbit/s.
Even my LT has work.

About BOINC, it is dr. Andersons work, apart from making changes due to the
continuesly changing of hardware, I'd change(play?) it as many as times as I feel is
necessary. Hard ware is getting more and more complex then ever before. And fast.

Throughput or RAC, has dropped, Einstein, my second project, imediatly sends
work, so this balances out. Lot of shorties, very very much shorties.
And my ATI host works again, so I'm a happy cruncher, as one says :)

We could make, or ask for a whining & cursing forum {tr(h)ead.......}...
.......but..............,
Keep on crunching.

Personally I like a good whine.... Merlot goes down well to drown the sorrows of no work available.
