On Windows XP, task manager, I cannot set the affinity of a setiathome_6.03_windows_intelx86.exe process to a specific cpu. Assigning it to prefer a specific cpu would speed things up as the cached data and code could be used again before being shuffled out for some other task that ran in the interim. |

Assigning it to prefer a specific cpu would speed things up as the cached data and code could be used again before being shuffled out for some other task that ran in the interim. Testing of CPU infinity have been made in the past and no real improvement in speed was found. In some cases overall performance was degraded. |

If you want to try this - use Process Lasso  - ALF - "Find out what you don't do well ..... then don't do it!" :)  |
