Hey there friends, Almost two days ago i created an account and set up a BOINC-wide team on this page: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/teams/ using the e-mail and username that i have previously used for my accounts (seti, collatz, einstein). If i recall correctly, this team information should have been imported to all compatible BOINC projects. It has been almost 48 hours and i still see no sign of my team when i do search in several projects' team search pages. Since then i'm thinking that i might have understood the logic behind this wrong. Do i have to create different teams for each project and then they will be held together by BOINC-wide team feature afterwards? Is it something like that? If not then why my BOINC-wide team cannot be found when i search it? Please help me on this, it's urgent. Thank you. |

Teams have to be created at each project. What? Do i have to browse each project page manually and create teams there? Oh geez. So i'll create multiple teams with the same name and then each of those teams' credits will be merged right? Then i take it that'll be the purpose of a BOINC-wide team. It just merges the credit of your teams in different projects with the same name. It does not automatically create teams for you, you have to do it manually. Please correct me if i'm wrong.

Teams have to be created at each project. Of course not, not when you made a team on BOINC Wide Team. The project will eventually import it, but the number of 48 hours on the BWT page is something of an example. It's up to the project to actually set this option on in the back-end/forum software. I don't know what the status of it is here at Seti, perhaps that they temporarily turned it off at some point to debug the connection problems. |

Teams have to be created at each project. You can make a team on each project instead of a BOINC wide team, but there will not be merging of credit in either case. As credit is specific to each project. The stat sites provide totals for all projects if that is what you want to accomplish. Here is an example from our team. http://stats.free-dc.org/stats.php?page=teambycpid&team=BP6%2FVP6+User+Group SETI@home classic workunits: 93,865 CPU time: 863,447 hours Join the [url=http://tinyurl.com/8y46zvu]BP6/VP6 User Group[ |

Teams have to be created at each project. Sorry, just going on my experience of creating teams, I've always done it at the project site, didn't know about that other site. -Dave |

The stat sites provide totals for all projects if that is what you want to accomplish. Here is an example from our team. There are several people want to join my team. They will contribute on different projects. If i make lots of teams for each project then i can't see the total contribution. There'll be a SETI team with 200k credit, a Collatz team with 100k credit and so on...I hope you get my point. I prefer things more ordely. I also want to see my team as one on BOINCstats with total credits from all projects. |

The stat sites provide totals for all projects if that is what you want to accomplish. Here is an example from our team. BOINCstats will total all of the projects anyway, but having one central place for admin is a good idea. I wish I had known about it sooner. From what I read on there you can still make the teams on each project site. Once the syncing takes place then they will all show up on your account on the BOINC site. So i should wait more to see my team imported. Did your team get imported at any other project? What is the team's name? According to Eric the team import function is on, it should fetch new teams once every day. |

Did your team get imported at any other project? I did a long search and unfortunately my team cannot be found in any BOINC project including SETI. Team Name: "Türkiyeli Ateist ve Agnostikler" The thing is, when i do search here: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/teams/ i can find my team. But it won't get imported to projects. |

Team Name: "Türkiyeli Ateist ve Agnostikler". Maybe a problem with the special character (umlaut)? Gruß, Gundolf |

Yes, I believe so as well. But Nautilus, please wait with trying to change it. Eric will check the download logs today to see what those say. He'll get back to me on that. |

Maybe its about being agnostic. just kidding. Who knows? I don't know with absolute certainty that it's about being agnostic or maybe it is....... oh wait. Gotta have faith in the computer gods. Granted. I worship my graphic cards 10 times a day. Yes, I believe so as well. But Nautilus, please wait with trying to change it. Eric will check the download logs today to see what those say. He'll get back to me on that. I appreciate your effort on this friend, I really do. |

I have a feeling this might be broken. I did a search just checking "show only active teams" and the result was "No teams were found matching your criteria. Try another search." The problem was that the daily team export was broken on the BWT server when they updated the operating system recently (after the RAID crash), hence why no project imported any teams. David fixed that. Your team should show up in the next 24 hours. Fingers crossed. :) |
